"Masle Franciso and his team did some excellent work on my house that needed some floors re-leveled as well as crawl space water proofing. They took the extra time and effort to make sure I was fully satisfied with the job and even added some additional features at no extra cost. Extremely good value for the price I paid, I highly recommend them."

As mechanical contractors operating separate companies, we worked closely for years on projects helping manage overflow work when needed. Our area of expertise has always been complicated projects where unique perspectives are necessary. We recognized an opportunity to pioneer an industry, so we combined forces to become Palmetto ProFoam. Our trade is not that of HVAC or SPRAYFOAM, it is BUILDING SCIENCE, and to that degree, we utilize high-efficient HVAC & insulation products and systems to achieve optimal performance.

We specialize in moisture control for crawlspaces and basements. Our team of professionals use the highest quality products and are focused on getting projects done in a timely manner with you, the customer in mind. Vapor barriers Crawlspace encapsulations Dehumidifiers Subfloor insulation Sump pumps and interior drains Fungal treatments Wood repair (moisture and termite damaged)

"Crawlspace Medic - Augusta recently worked on our crawlspace. We were having moisture and water issues, a moisture barrier we previously put in had almost disintegrated, and originally-installed insulation was falling down. Kevin did a thorough inspection and gave me a comprehensive estimate, and his crew arrived timely and went right to work. They constructed a French drain within the crawlspace to drain off any water that would collect under the house, installed new insulation between all floor joists in the crawlspace, and installed a new, white 10-mil vapor barrier throughout the crawlspace. They taped over the seams and spiked the vapor barrier. We had previously installed an exhaust fan. They cleaned up the debris, and the crawlspace looks better than it ever has since we built our home in 1996. They worked continuously and did an excellent job. Tanner was very conscientious and came back to finish up. We are very pleased with the work they did on our home and feel so much better and secure about our crawlspace."

Basement Waterproofing questions, answered by experts

Damp proofing and waterproofing are both methods to help keep your basement dry. Damp proofing keeps soil moisture from entering your basement, which is helpful since your basement is underground. Waterproofing, however, keeps both soil moisture and liquid water out of the basement, which is essential, especially if you live in a wet environment. Because it’s more protective, waterproofing typically costs more than damp proofing.

Crawl spaces are prone to issues caused by excess humidity and improper ventilation, but that doesn’t mean you should avoid buying a house with a crawl space. A home that is encapsulated and well-maintained shouldn’t have any more issues than a slab or basement home.

A moisture or vapor barrier helps separate the warm air inside your home from the cold air outside of it. Without it, your walls could collect condensation, mold, or other damage. Check your local building codes to see if including an interior vapor barrier is necessary for your building project or renovation, especially for rooms that are likely to be humid, like bathrooms.

Alternatives to gutter systems include rain chains and drip edges, which work to disperse rain coming off of your roof to a wider section of the ground to prevent erosion and pooling. These options aren’t standalone alternatives to gutters in all parts of the country because they don’t divert water. They’re often reserved for dry climates. On the ground, you can also opt for a drip path or French drain. These can serve as standalone alternatives, but they’re expensive and can detract from your curb appeal and usable yard.

Standing water under your house can threaten its structural integrity. If water pools in your crawl space, it can damage the foundation and the structure above ground, causing wood rot, mold, and other problems. If you have a concrete foundation, standing water under your house can also make your foundation slabs crack.
