"I hired T&W to repair cracks in ceiling and paint ceiling and crown. They arrived on time and were very professional and respectful of our property. Before doing any work they covered all areas. They are very reasonable price wise and did a fanatic job. I will use them again and highly recommend them if you want a professional job done by respectful people."

They do fantastic work including panting of my cabinetry and transformed my kitchen into a beautiful area for leisure with the family and when guests come over. All the back splash, and countertops look amazing and I was astonished with the whole process and how smooth it was! "I had a crack I my ceiling and hired T&W Home Improvements to fix it. Mike arrived on time, quickly went to work fixing the ceiling, and cleaned up well after. Mike taped, spackled, and re-painted the ceiling and did a great job. I truly can't see where he did the work. Very satisfied and I will call them again for any future job."

Ceramic Tile questions, answered by experts

DIY is possible for small projects. Professional services ensure precision and long-lasting results.

Yes, but you should only put tile directly on drywall in smaller areas that don’t experience excess moisture. For example, a small kitchen tile backsplash could work, but installing tile directly on the drywall in a bathroom or other chronically damp area is not a good idea. Either way, a cement backer board is a far more reliable solution, as drywall is susceptible to moisture and can warp or cause your tiles to crack.

Installing kitchen countertop tiles on a mold and moisture-resistant cement backer board is one of the best options. When fitted correctly on top of a plywood base, it’s stable and long-lasting. Old-fashioned cement board is economical, cuts neatly and easily with a circular or jigsaw, and screws into plywood without any difficulty.

The best bathroom floor tiles are strong enough to withstand the weight of a clawfoot tub. However, professional tile installation is essential. If the tiles are uneven or improperly fixed, they may crack under the pressure. Be careful when installing the tub—if it drops or drags on the tiles, it could easily cause scratches or cracks.

Bathrooms are naturally moisture-rich environments, so choose a durable, water-resistant tile for your tub surround. Porcelain and ceramic are two popular options that are also quite affordable. Glass is another good option that’s also low-maintenance—you just need a glass cleaner like you would use on the bathroom mirror. Natural stone tile is porous, but it’s still a viable option if you choose it in a glazed version.
