"We hired Harvin Masonry to extend our small patio with pavers. Baron Harvin was a wealth of information in our decision making process. He and his crew worked very professionally completing our project. There were delays due to heavy rains and Baron knew to wait until the ground was dry enough to proceed. We could not be happier with the end result and the attention to detail. The surrounding yard was left very clean as well. Will definitely hire Harvin Masonry again for any future projects of this sort."

"The project was to create a walkway through a large, heavily landscaped rear section of my backyard to showcase the the massive live oak trees, shrubbery & flowering plants. Scott, owner of Green Landscaping, designed a path using garden step stones so that I could walk in & around the entire area to cut flowers or just sit on a bench & admire the surrounding beauty. The result was truly magical & I was thrilled with my “secret garden” thanks to Scott’s vision, creativity & hardworking crew."

"Someone hit my brick mailbox and I hired Peace Construction to rebuild it. It only took 1 day to be rebuilt. The bricks for the mailbox matched the exact bricks on my home. Some older brick material is extremely hard, making it tough to create a hole. Rather than using a typical wood drill bit, always use a masonry drill bit when drilling into brick. For extremely hard brick, using a power drill with a hammer function may give you better results. The drill bit will heat up as it goes into the extremely hard brick, so you may need to stop after a few minutes and allow the bit to cool before starting to drill again.

Rock salt and ice melts contain sodium chloride, aka salt, and are corrosive to metal and concrete. If used frequently over time, it can cause corrosion, discoloration, chipping, and cracking to patios, walkways, and driveways. You can try a rock salt alternative or hire a professional snow removal company instead. 

The best tool for drilling into brick or mortar is a rotary hammer drill which is a large hammer drill with low rotation speed and high torque. Regular drills with a hammer function are also excellent tools for drilling into brick when the diameter of the hole is 1/2 inch or less. It might be possible to drill into brick with a standard drill if you’re only drilling a very small hole, but note that masonry work will put a lot of wear on a standard drill, and the tool may not be strong enough to get through brick.

This is different from paint, which sits on the surface and is prone to peeling, flaking, and trapping moisture that can cause damage. Water-based brick stains are often recommended because they are easy to apply, even for DIYers, and they allow the brick to breathe. Avoid using regular paint on brick, as it will not adhere properly and can lead to future maintenance problems.
