"This was the second time we have used John's Custom House Painting for a painting project and the second time we were very pleased with John's work. He arrived at his stated time and did an excellent job painting our ceiling. The ceiling is 9 1/2 feet high and is covered in 1 foot square celotex instead of sheetrock which means lots of grooves and edges to paint. There was one large and a smaller water stain from leaks in the roofing. John was able to completely cover these and the ceiling looks great! John was very careful to cover the floor and furniture and did not get paint on anything. I appreciate his talent and professionalism. Would hire him again for more painting projects in the future.

"They painted my shutters and front door. Then I asked for a quote for interior painting. They did my entire upstairs and did so good I called them a third time for a quote to paint downstairs. Then I called a fourth time to paint a cathedral ceiling with the entire wall done in new shiplap! And they had to paint another entire room due to a bad leak. They’re precise, respectful and courteous, on time, and pretty fast. They’re forever my painters now. I’ve had several painters before finding Covenant Painting. My home is over 15 years old, I’m so thankful we found them!!! His prices are very affordable too. Thank you guys, for everything!!!"

"Anderson Painting is the best! MIkel and team were conscientious, hard working and paid attention to the little details. Showed up when they said they would and stayed until they got the job done. Will definitely recommend them to all my friends and neighbors and will call them again when it's time to repaint the home. Cannot say enough great things about this company."

"I would highly recommend this business.  We had them come and restain the deck and at first just powerwash the house.  They scheduled the work right away.  After doing the pressure washing, there were some areas with paint chips under the soffit.  Mike offered to repaint those for free.  During this, they noticed areas of the soffit that were rotten, so we had them repair those areas of the wood.  They also fixed a few screens that were damaged during the pressure washing for free.
Everything turned out great, and we are very happy we had this work done.  Mike and Crystal are very professional and easy to work with.  I will be having them do some more work on our house in the near future.

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Painting a damaged pool deck is not recommended if the substrate is crumbling, cracking, spalling, or otherwise actively deteriorating. Continuing deterioration will result in the paint also delaminating or flaking off the damaged surface. Minor damage such as chips or hairline cracks that are not actively deteriorating can often be repaired enough to paint over. A damaged pool deck with a lot of cracking and deterioration should be replaced for best results.

Unless you’re using a 2-in-1 formula or painting over an existing coat of paint, it pays to apply a coat of primer ahead of your new paint. Decks see a lot of footfall and exposure to extreme and sudden temperature changes and moisture levels. The primer promotes better paint adhesion, moisture repellency, and a smoother finish, which means you’ll often need fewer coats of paint.

Staining pressure-treated wood is a recommended practice. While inherently resilient, it's not impervious to moisture and UV exposure. Staining treated wood is feasible and recommended for enhanced protection and longevity. Applying stain and sealant safeguards against degradation, prolonging its life span. These measures shield the wood from environmental threats while augmenting its aesthetic appeal, ensuring your investment endures the test of time.

It's okay to walk on a newly painted deck after about four to six hours as long as the weather has been dry. Be sure to wait at least 24 hours before you place any outdoor furniture or grills on a freshly painted deck, though.

Yes, you can and should paint or stain pressure-treated wood, as this helps prevent the surface from cracking. However, it is crucial to wait for the wood to dry out completely from the chemical treatment process before applying a finish. If the wood is still wet, the paint will not adhere properly. The drying time can range from weeks to six months. To test if the wood is ready, drip some water onto a board. If the water is absorbed, the wood is dry enough for painting or staining. If the water beads up on the surface, it needs more time to dry. You can build with the wood while it's still wet, but you must wait for it to dry before painting.
