"I got the pleasure of working with Johnathan. From the first phone call he was very friendly and knowledgeable. He went to an emergency job at my T-Mobile store. Not only did he fix the mess a previous tech made he also charged a very good price. He went above and beyond from start to finish and he sent pics. The store requested him for all locksmith jobs. I have over 3000 stores and clinics we manage maintenance for and he is at the top of the list. He is very knowledgeable at his job. On top of being fast and doing a thorough job. Heâ  s also good at explaining what the problem was and how he will fix it. I would recommend him for any and all locking needs. I rate him a full 10 if possible."

"Choice responded quickly but the insurance plan does not pay for all doors to be re-keyed unless you have very few locks. The number of locks covered by the insurance is determined by keyholes, not doors! (Read your policy!) You will likely have to shell out some money to have this essential new-home service if you have more than four keyholes. The locksmith they called was EXCELLENT and made all our locks completely functional. We will happily hire the locksmith again (R.L Locksmith LLC). We paid $201.81 (plus another $50 for some door re-alignment not included in the re-keying benefit) and Choice paid $100 for the job."

Locksmiths questions, answered by experts

First thing first: Make sure you’re using the right key. If it’s the correct key for your lock, there are a few reasons why it may not be working, like the key is worn out or the lock is jammed. Try lubricating the lock and pushing the door closed to ensure the mechanisms work correctly. If you’re still locked out, call in for help.

Regrettably, entirely pick-proof locks don't exist unless you opt for keyless varieties. Locks advertised as "pick-proof" are, in reality, more resilient against lock-picking and bumping attempts because of complex mechanisms consisting of pins and sidebars. These locks work like this—they assign two tasks to the key, enhancing security by making unauthorized entry more challenging.

Always consider security a top priority in your home. Perform a safety inspection of your home. Look for broken locks and rusty deadbolts, and take an inventory of who has access to your keys.

Consider the locks on your shed, safe, and other household items. Professional locksmiths can help you determine the best safety and security options for your home and feel at ease.

When a locksmith comes to your home, ensure your safety by having the locksmith show identification and provide an itemized invoice that you can reference later.

Using a combination of tools (often store-bought plumbing tools) and brute force, a burglar can easily snap the lock on a door. Snapping a lock aims to gain access to the cylinder inside, which holds the locking mechanism. Once the thief snaps the lock, they can pick the cylinder open and walk right in.

Most door knobs can be removed with a Phillips or flathead screwdriver. If you don’t have either of those available, a paper clip or small pin can sometimes work, but the extra effort may not be worth a quick trip to the hardware store.
