"Chris and John showed up as scheduled and did a very thorough job of assessing the water incursion problem I have. In the end, it was a problem that Ram Jack does not repair, but they told me what probably should be done to fix it. I certainly appreciate the fine evaluation they did and their advice. As an extra bonus, they were very pleasant to deal with!"

"McKeever and partner arrived on time and cheerful. He inspected the fireplace, gave an estimate and offered suggestions. He used the proper materials for the job and went the extra mile by including pointing? to some areas not including in quote. They left the job site tidy and secure. I also felt comfortable with the cost. I am a Realtor and had been looking for a "licensed" masonry contractor I could trust and depend on for client needs. Now I have one."

"Darrion is a true hero with brick work. We searched for months to find somebody to take on this flowerbed that encompassed a hill. It looks fabulous, the bricks color and mortar also match the house colors. Darrion is brilliant with his craft. You cant go wrong."

"Wow! What a great job Fred and his crew did. From the first meeting until the final touches you couldn't ask for a more professional job. In this day and age it is refreshing to see someone who: 1. Shows up when he says he will be there. 2. Gives you a quote the same day.. didn't have to wait weeks. 3. Is fair and reasonable with the cost. 4. Does the work his says he going to do and more. 5. Makes great recommendations on the design. This company takes great pride in their work. If I need more work done this is where I'm going. I highly recommend you go there to!!!!!"

Masonry questions, answered by experts

A fireplace is, by definition, an enclosed space where you burn wood or other fuel for the purpose of generating light and heat. A firepit burns wood and is much less expensive to build, but they aren’t technically a fireplace as it isn’t enclosed. An outdoor oven—commonly outdoor brick pizza ovens—often uses wood as fuel, but its primary purpose is to cook food, and you’d rarely just burn wood inside them for warmth or aesthetic reasons.

Yes, depending on the type of pavers you have, you may need a specific type of sealant. For example, concrete pavers will bond differently than clay pavers or faux stone pavers and will demand a different type of sealer. If you’re unsure of the material and what type of sealant you need, you can contact the company that laid your pavers down for you.

In some cases, black stains on brick are caused by organic substances like algae and mold. However, it's more likely that the black spots you're noticing on your bricks come from carbon from vehicle exhaust or soot. Black stains can usually be removed by scrubbing the brick with a brush and masonry cleaner or power washing.

Yes, brick walls often add value to a home. For starters, many people love the look of brick walls, so they can enhance your home's aesthetic appeal and add warmth to your property, especially when it aligns with the rest of your neighborhood's look. They also provide privacy and security, which can further increase the resale value of your home.

No, it’s not recommended to attach shutters to brick without drilling. Brick is dense and built to last, so adhesives and shortcut methods don’t usually cut it. Even heavy-duty glue struggles to hold up over time—especially against wind, moisture, and temperature changes. Most no-drill options are made for materials like vinyl or wood, not solid masonry. Skipping the drill might seem easier, but it puts your shutters—and anything below them—at risk. For a secure, lasting install, drilling is the way to go. It takes more effort up front, but the result is safer and more reliable.
