"He was on time, professional and polite. Cleaned up after/during the job. (5 rooms) Our home is fairly new and the builders did a terrible job with the carpet that caused it to be wavy. But Charlie came to stretch the carpet and it is GREAT!!! I wish I would have found him sooner."

"I'm so glad a friend recommended Donnie to me!  He is such a nice guy and has an admirable work ethic!  Just kept going until the job was done, and so reasonable!  Definitely helped me stretch my budget. Hard to find someone so caring and sincere:)  After he tiled my sun room, I  had him come back to do the yard...AMAZING difference :)...and will continue to call him whenever I can use his services..  Yesterday he helped my neighbor with a yard clean up before her arrival back home from a long trip!  Thank you Donnie!"

Carpet Stretching FAQs, answered by experts

Pros use power stretchers that secure the carpet firmly in place.

The best solvent for removing carpet glue depends on its chemical composition. Most carpet glue reacts well to a solvent made from orange oil. Use mineral spirits to remove tar-based glue, which has a darker, brownish tint. Methylene chloride paint stripper and lacquer thinner should also work, but beware of the nasty and dangerous fumes.

No, it works best under synthetic carpets in high-traffic or moisture-prone areas. Avoid using moisture barrier padding under natural fiber carpets like wool, which need air circulation. The barrier can trap the moisture against natural fibers and cause problems. Also, you can skip it in low-risk areas like upstairs guest bedrooms, where the extra protection often isn't worth the added cost.

You may be able to use super glue in a pinch to fix your carpet, but expect the repair to last only a short time. Super glue isn't designed for carpet, so over time, it'll break down, and the carpet piece will move out of place. For the best results, go to the store and grab a bottle of carpet seam glue.

Generally speaking, restretch your carpets once every five years, though this timeframe depends on a number of factors, such as the level of foot traffic in the area. If the carpet looks wrinkled and there are loosened areas on the floor, go for the restretch. If everything looks and feels fine, you are good.
