My names Cayden Shadoan, I’m 23 years old. I have a beautiful wife and daughter. I have a full time job as a pipe welder in Sumter South Carolina. I’m on here just looking to pick up a couple extra jobs here and there in hopes of starting my own business one day to be able to stay home with my family more. I can do pretty much anything that needs done in or around your house. Specializing in building fences or repairing fences, any kind of piping jobs, or any welding. Thank you for considering me to help you get what you need done. Hope to see you soon.

"One Hour and their tech Rick are incredible! They have earned my commitment as a customer. Our Ocean Isle Beach house heat pump had been used very little but was out of warranty when it developed a Freon leak. Two different reputable local HVAC companies thoroughly examined the system, and both said that I needed the unit replaced (at considerable expense). I contacted One Hour, and Rick promptly responded. He advised that I should be able to get a lot more life out of it, and doggedly worked on finding the leak. Using his long years of experience, he checked areas that were likely to have leaks but difficult to discover. HE FOUND IT! Rick also serviced the system, and placed us in their Heroes Program which gave me an immediate discount; free routine inspections; discounts on future work; and more. I live in Charlotte, and handled everything with One Hour by phone which was a huge convenience. I only write reviews if a company is really bad or really good. You obviously know which category One Hour is on my list."

"AC went out on Saturday night. I called Advanced Air Systems at 12 pm on Sunday. The technition (David Black) came out and diagnosed the problem right away. He gave me repair options from used part, new part, or new system. He was willing to do any of the above for us. We decided to go with the new system. The technition called his parts distributor and had them open up on Sunday so they could repair our system and make sure we didn't have to spend another night without AC. The unit was installed for the price quoted and there were no surprised charges. Do ask for David Brown to do the repair work."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

No, for two very important reasons. First, it’s illegal to release refrigerant into the air or ground since it can be toxic and cause environmental damage. Technicians typically pump old or extra refrigerant into separate tanks for special disposal. Second, without professional equipment to read refrigerant pressure and levels, plus the AC’s suggested requirements, it’s impossible to know if you’ve removed the right amount of refrigerant. Stay away from a DIY solution here and seek an expert with the right tools.

Yes, running your air conditioning unit too cold can cause condensation in the air ducts and built up moisture on the air filter, resulting in a breeding ground for mold and mildew. Mold and mildew growth can irritate those with respiratory issues, so it’s best to keep your AC running at a normal temperature.

Mold in your air conditioner isn't a good thing, as it can be harmful to your health. If the mold travels through the ductwork or is blown out of the A/C, you and your family can inhale mold spores and develop respiratory illnesses and other problems. Preventing mold from growing in the air conditioner will help protect your health.

Air conditioners and dehumidifiers are actually quite similar, though they perform different jobs. Dehumidifiers reduce moisture in the air, while air conditioners work to cool the home. A good central AC unit will naturally perform a certain level of dehumidification due to its design, but it will not be able to handle excessive levels of moisture.

This is a bit of a trick question. Even though the seasons arrive at the same time every year, the weather doesn’t always behave according to the calendar. So, while it’s fair to say that you can expect to turn on your AC starting in late May or early June, it all depends on the outside temperature and how cool you like to keep your home.
