"We paid $1100 - $800 for the cleaning of the empty house and the remainder for interior windows and those exterior windows they could reasonably reach. I particularly mentioned a smell in the house that I thought might be attributed to a plug- in and if they found it, could they remove, a sticky counter (which they promised they could clean), some scuffed walls (same) and dirty refrigerator. The stench was still there(my husband found the plug in-easily found… the stench soon diffused once removed) the sticky counter(no change), scuffed wall, no change, and the floor of the refrigerator is filthy and iced over. Worse yet, as I sat on the stairs, I saw a small aqua lego and what looked like a piece of cereal. When I picked it up, it was a peanut and, being highly allergic, I went into an anaphylactic event. This is not what I expected from “all we leave behind are results…” Cannot recommend."

Laminate flooring naturally expands and contracts when indoor temperatures fluctuate, and without adequate room for expansion, the planks can lift off the subfloor. To avoid this, ensure your flooring installer knows to leave the proper expansion gaps.

Luxury vinyl flooring is the best for pet owners, as it holds up well against scratches and accidents. Non-slip stone or porcelain tile are great options as well. Each of these also provide a less slippery surface for pups that like to run around.

As for the flooring options to avoid, these are hardwood, laminate, and carpeting. Claws can scratch hardwood and tear up carpeting. The price depends, however, on the fabric and quality of the runner. A wool stair runner can be more expensive than an inexpensive polyester carpet and vice versa. Keep an eye on your budget, knowing that the higher quality the carpet and the carpet pad, the better the carpet will wear over time.

You can lay carpet by yourself, but that doesn’t necessarily mean you should. DIY carpet installation can save you on labor costs, but you’ll have to pay more to get the right tools and equipment first. A knee kicker, carpet stretcher, and seam roller are a few pieces of equipment you’ll need that you may not already have lying around. And keep in mind that repairing or replacing carpet later because of a bad installation is twice as expensive as paying a pro to handle it in the first place.
