"Fantastically well. They coordinated with the roof company project manager as to the timing of both removal and re-installation. They were prompt, courteous and committed to solar energy and to my project. The price was fantastic. Work was done correctly so that my water heater was up and running immediately and without any issues. n addition, I asked for a proposal for whole house solar panels--got the proposal with all the specs immediately. Awesome!

Expert Solar is South Carolina's leading solar panel provider. We allow homeowners to go green with no upfront cost or down payment, and thanks to tax incentives, the government will actually pay you to go green if you qualify.\n\nThrough the government's new net metering program, homeowners with a 650 credit score or higher can eliminate their current electric bill and swap it out for a more cost-effective solar bill at a fixed rate. Eventually, you'll have no bill at all, allowing you to own your own power rather than rent it for the rest of your life!\n\nI am here to provide homeowners with a free energy savings report to see if going solar is the right fit. "The only time I get upset with Dish is when there is a storm I lose picture for a little while because the dish gets clogged. I really like them and I would recommend them.  They are polite and they try to solve your problem over the phone so you don’t have people coming to your house all the time. I get about 200 channels."

Solar Panels questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can connect an inverter directly to your solar panels without solar battery storage if your home is connected to the power grid. However, most pros don’t recommend a direct connection because solar panels don’t put out steady voltage. It’s always best to install a charge controller between your solar panel and your inverter to regulate the flow of energy and ensure a stable power supply.

Yes, you have to get on the roof to cut a hole for solar tubing. It's not possible to complete the job from inside your house by simply cutting through the ceiling. So if you want to go the DIY route, remember to use safe ladder practices. If you’re not comfortable climbing on your roof to install solar tubes, hire a pro who has the tools and expertise to do the job safely.

You can install solar panels on a flat or pitched roof, but keep in mind that they will need to rest at a 30- to 50-degree tilt for optimal sun absorption. It costs more to install solar panels on a flat roof because you will need to install a framing system and likely hire a structural engineer. If your roof has a pitch of more than 40 degrees, it may not be a good candidate for solar panels.

Professionals use the same methods to install solar shingles that they do for asphalt shingles, so you’ll often see a similar installation timeline of one to two days. The amount of time required will depend on the size and slope of your roof and the number of shingles installed. Weather conditions can delay installation, as working on a roof is unsafe during high winds or heavy rain.

Solar roofing shingles may qualify for significant federal tax incentives through programs like the Residential Clean Energy Credit, which offers up to 30% of installation costs through 2032. State and local governments often provide additional credits, and utility companies may offer further rebates or net metering programs, depending on the state. Just look into the qualification requirements beforehand because installation, documentation, and technical standards can impact eligibility. Consult the current guidelines and a tax professional to maximize available benefits.
