Different manufacturers package their tiles differently, and boxes contain different amounts of tile depending on the size, shape, and material. Ceramic tile flooring lasts 75 to 100 years if you take care of it properly. To make sure your ceramic tiles last decades, regularly clean the grout and tiles, reseal the grout every year, and fix any chips or cracks as soon as possible. You’ll also want to choose high-quality ceramic with a tile grade of 1 for the longest-lasting tiles.

It’s not a good idea to lay tile and grout on the same day. The adhesive or thin-set that sticks the tiles to the surface needs plenty of time to dry before you can grout. Finally, you’ll need grout to smooth the gaps between the tiles and, ideally, a grout sealer to prevent mold.
