"Awful. Absolutely awful. We hired them for an insurance claim. The job was extremely sloppy. The drywall is uneven and chunky. There was paint splatter on my floor that no one felt the need to clean up. There was a spot on my floor that was supposed to be fixed under the carpeting. It was never fixed and I paid out of pocket to have that carpeting replaced and that floor fixed. the padding was never replaced under that section of carpet either and I paid for that too!! When I brought it up to the owner, I receive no response. I have called and left voicemails, my wife has called and left voicemails. I even contacted the restoration company who hired these goons, and they are just passing us off to the owner like it's all his fault. NO you hired an incompetent contractor. He has been to small claims court before, he may be going there again if this issue isn't resolved."

Once the outside weather drops below 32 degrees, your pipes are at risk of freezing. Adjusting—or lowering—the thermostat is a common practice before going to bed or when leaving the house. If you want to keep your pipes from freezing, keep the thermostat set at no less than 55 degrees (so long as temperatures are below freezing). 

To bleed air from the pipes, start by turning off the main water supply. Then, starting with the faucet that’s closest to the water valve, open each of your faucets halfway, making sure to open both hot and cold options if they’re separate. This allows the air to escape the pipes. Once all faucets are open, turn your water supply back on and let the water run for 10 to 15 minutes until the faucets stop sputtering.

As far as plumbing goes, replacing a kitchen faucet is an entry-level project. That said, you may run into complications. If your faucet is incompatible with your countertop or you have to alter your plumbing, you may want to hire a pro.

Beyond keeping the entire plumbing system flowing, plumbing vents also help control gas and odors from entering the home. These vents also allow fresh air to enter your plumbing system, which helps improve water flow. A sure sign the plumbing vent is failing or needs repairs is if there’s a strong sewage scent coming from multiple points of the home.

Signs of a leaky faucet include dripping water, unusual noises, and irregular water flow coming from the faucet. Discoloration or water stains around the sink or countertop can also indicate a leak, as can higher than usual water bills and wet areas under and around the sink’s base.
