"Project went great! Billy the installer worked with us and had good ideas, solved any problems he encountered and did an excellent job with installation and finish work. Gary our salesman, was also very helpful with planning and layout and recommended a tile installer that did an amazing job.
Thomas Kitchens also gutted and remodeled our entire kitchen this past summer and again did an excellent job. We are very happy with all the work Thomas Kitchens has done for us.

Additional Phone: 201-723-9768\nOur partner has over 5 years of experience in the carpet & upholstery cleaning business. We use very powerful hot water-extraction equipment that will thoroughly remove dirt and soil , leaving carpet clean. Tables, chairs and sofas will be carefully moved. Larger items such as beds, dressers, pianos and entertainment centers will be protected by the use of disposable blocks placed underneath furniture legs. Stains, spots and high-traffic areas will be pre-treated for more effective stain and soil removal. Before we begin work in your home, you will receive a written estimate with no hidden charges. Most importantly, you will receive the same great service you have come to expect from the details team.

Ceramic Tile questions, answered by experts

The easiest tile size to install is large tiles, and they’re easier to install than small tiles—the job is faster and simpler when there’s less placing, adhering, and grouting to do. However, when tiles get really big, they’re more difficult to handle, cut, and fit. Standard floor tile sizes are 12-by-12 inches, 18-by-18 inches, and 12-by-24 inches.

Generally speaking, it is better to cut tile wet when using a fast-moving wet saw to reduce dust and chipping. However, tile can be cut dry when using just about any cutting tool. Dry cutting will result in a bigger mess and may increase the risk of chipping or cracking, but if you’re just making small cuts, dry cutting is a safe and viable option. Cutting dry also means you can apply tile grout sooner, so it’s better for rushed projects.

The lifespan of tile flooring can vary significantly based on the material and maintenance. Generally, tile flooring can last anywhere from 10 to 30 years, but high-quality, well-maintained ceramic tile can last 75 to 100 years. To achieve a longer lifespan, you should clean the tiles and grout regularly, reseal the grout annually, keep the floor dry, and avoid placing extremely heavy items on it to prevent cracking. Choosing a high-quality tile (Grade 1) will also contribute to its longevity.

Yes, you can tile over existing tiles in a bathroom, but it is not always recommended. For this method to be successful, the original tile surface must be clean, flat, and free of damage such as cracks, unevenness, mold, or mildew. While tiling over existing tiles can save time and money, there are potential drawbacks. The new adhesive may not bond properly, and the process adds extra weight to the wall or floor. Additionally, the increased height of the surface could interfere with door clearances. For the best and most durable results, removing the old tiles before installing new ones is generally the better option.

Tile countertops can be an excellent and budget-friendly option for a kitchen, provided they are installed correctly. It's important to choose tiles, such as ceramic, that are heat-, water-, and scratch-resistant. When the grout is properly sealed, it will resist stains, making the surface easy to clean. Tile is also considered a sustainable material. For a cohesive kitchen design and added protection, you can pair a tile countertop with a matching tile backsplash.
