"Really well; the company was able to wire everything as originally planned. The installation was completed in 2 days; we tested the system for 3 days, and we have had no trouble with it at all. The installation involved very little mess or inconvenience and we are delighted with the results. We would recommend L & R to anyone looking for a sophisticated security system that operates in an astonishingly simple way.

"ADT is the best company to talk to in terms of security alarm. Being a locksmith myself I know how important it is to deal with the right people. I referred a lot of customers to them and so far they are happy with their service. I myself got one for my house. Thank you for a consistent service and great deal."

"Initially, my experience was not great. The scheduled appointment was forgotten and I never received a call. Obviously not a good thing. However due to a limited number of locksmiths in the area (at least through Service Magic), I decided to give it one more try. Indeed the second time was the charm. I was very pleased with the outcome and reasonable price. I have contracted this vendor for additional work."

Locksmiths questions, answered by experts

Yes, but adding a deadbolt to some door materials, like steel, may make installation a little bit trickier. For these materials, you will want to hire a locksmith to do the work for you, but be aware that they may charge an additional fee of $25 to $50 or more.

Whether or not keyless door locks are safe and trustworthy depends on the visibility of the programming code—and a trespasser’s determination. Even if you carefully guard entry and programming codes, those trying to break in may be able to crack open the lock’s faceplate with a screwdriver and change the codes. The same goes for manual models.

Some find smart locks the safest option because it’s harder to manipulate codes without access to your phone. But it’s possible to get hacked even then. Consider installing an extended security system, like door and window alarms or surveillance cameras, to enhance security.

Smart locks offer a similar level of safety to traditional or conventional locks because they often use comparable locking mechanisms, such as deadbolts. The primary difference is the access method: smart locks use a login or code instead of a physical key, which adds convenience. While not inherently safer, some smart locks have added security features that can deter intruders, like shutting down after too many incorrect code attempts or being harder to pick. For the best security, it's recommended to combine any lock with other home safety features like motion-activated lighting, security cameras, and window and door sensors.

Yes, you should always change your locks after buying a house. Do so as soon as possible after you move in. Otherwise, you won’t know who has working keys to the property, whether they’re spare keys or otherwise. If an intruder gains access to your house with a key, it may not be covered under your homeowners insurance.

Commercial locksmith services range from $75 to $500, depending on the job's complexity, such as key duplication, lock installation, or access control system setup.
