"I supposedly won their contest at the State College Home Show 2022 for $1200 certificate. Rep came out and knew nothing about giving me the prize I won. Should have seen this as red flag. Window and entry door replaced anyway. Like the window. BUT, the door has major air draft coming in down the side and across the bottom. Have been calling repeatedly for 2 months leaving multiple messages- no return call since back in October. Company sent me letter 11/30 and called me that evening trying to get me to hire them to do more work. Assured me they would send someone to correct problem with initial work. Still have not received phone call or service visit from anyone in this company. Don't enter their contests at Home shows- I think they use this as way to get into your home to sell you their company when you haven't really won anything. and don't hire them to do any work. They will not fix any problems!!"

"Rick at Epic took our deposit money and guaranteed a max amount would be withheld if we backed out our project. After receiving a quote that was $70k over our budget, which he said he could work within our budget and would not provide a quote without deposit, we decided to back out. During the whole process Epic cancelled or rescheduled meetings at the last minute several times and was overall unresponsive. Epic the billed us double what they initially said would be the max. After much discussion they finally agreed to honor the original agreement. Since then, they have not sent any additional refund that was agreed upon and have stopped responding to communication. This was our first experience with a home builder and the worst experience I’ve had with any vendor of any kind. There are plenty of builder options, STAY AWAY FROM EPIC!!!"

"A family member had a garage door installed. They did come in a timely manner to install it. Unfortunately, they were when I was not able to be there due to a doctor's appointment. We were given one remote, which did not work to open the door. Someone had to crawl through a window in order to get into the garage. We then discovered that everything was set on the lawn mower seat, including the keys to the locked door and a 2nd remote (which was ordered) that did, indeed, work (not sure how you're supposed to open the locked door with a remote that was inside of the garage.) Towards the end of the installation, the workers mentioned that she owed an addition $90. My family member called the next day to inquire why, and she was told she owed for the 2nd remote, and a keypad that was accidentally installed by one of the workers. When we contacted them about this issue, the person who works there was very rude, commenting that they were going to be the ones who decide if we were responsible for the keypad that was accidentally put in by ONE OF THEIR WORKERS! I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone for doors and/or windows."
