"David did drywall replacement in my living room dining room, he installed laminate flooring in my living room, dining room,he rebuilt my deck, and did work to my hallway and bathroom, his work is amazing, cleans up after himself, on time, and the prices are reasonable, even with miscommunications he is very flexible. Small jobs welcome

"Tim went all out to do a fabulous job on my front porch and barn posts that had to be worked on. He was meticulous and detail oriented when he had to replace or repair rotted wood on both the front porches of my 1900 house and barn supports. I’m sure it was a challenge to replicate parts of the porch as well as solve other issues. I’d hire him in a heartbeat if another project surfaces."

"As always, Dan and Tyler did a great job. They painted two bedrooms, one bathroom as well as three small hallways. Dan also replaced one toilet. We couldn't be happier with the way the work was done and my only regret is that one of these years I will run out of projects for this father/son duo to do."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Ipe wood can last up to 75 years with minimal maintenance because its own oils help to preserve it. However, to get the most out of your Ipe wood deck, you should perform some routine maintenance, including regular cleaning, sweeping of leaves and debris, and rinsing spills with a hose. It’s also important to repair any deep scratches as soon as you spot them and reseal the deck annually to protect against scratches and scuffs.

Yes, you can and should paint or stain pressure-treated wood, as this helps prevent the surface from cracking. However, it is crucial to wait for the wood to dry out completely from the chemical treatment process before applying a finish. If the wood is still wet, the paint will not adhere properly. The drying time can range from weeks to six months. To test if the wood is ready, drip some water onto a board. If the water is absorbed, the wood is dry enough for painting or staining. If the water beads up on the surface, it needs more time to dry. You can build with the wood while it's still wet, but you must wait for it to dry before painting.

Routine cleaning, sealing/staining, and inspection prolong deck life and appearance.

Always sand a deck before repainting so the wood is smooth and ready for paint. While you do not need to fully remove paint before repainting, sanding helps remove any areas with weather and sun damage. Sanding also helps remove chipped or flaking paint and opens the wood pores to improve paint adhesion.

There’s no single paint that’s the most waterproof. Instead, there are several types of waterproof and water-resistant paints that suit different purposes. Epoxy paint, for instance, is commonly used to provide a waterproof coating to floors and decks. Masonry paint is an excellent choice for exterior walls. Meanwhile, there are waterproof acrylic paints that can be used for interior and exterior walls. It’s more about choosing the best type for what you’re painting instead of the most waterproof paint overall.
