"My wife and I just had Oakland give us a quote, plan and then install, pour, a 8.5 cubic yard patio after removing the trex deck that it was time to retire around our inground pool. After removal of the deck it was discovered that there was electrical work that needed to be rerun to our pool pump house and a Jacuzzi we were replacing. This they had no problem incorporating into the job without batting an eye. Communication was good. And from the plan, to scheduling, to actually accomplishing the task, considering the bad weather we were having, everything was done professionally, and on time in spite of whatever obstacles were thrown in the way. The crew was professional and courteous, and went out of their way to protect all that was necessary around what they were doing. They went out of their way to meticulously clean up the job and ensure everything was to our complete satisfaction before calling it done. All was done in a timely manner in spite of the atrocious weather they had to work around and through in getting it finished. My wife and I could not be happier with the job, and I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking to have concrete work done for any reason."

Sealing resurfaced concrete is not an absolute necessity. However, it is recommended, and in most cases, a high-quality concrete sealer can protect the surface from stains as well as water penetration, extending the life of the resurfacing material. The easiest way to handle extra-wet cement is to pour it, let it harden, and then recycle it using one of the methods above. You can also crush it down and sell it for base materials, although this can be pretty time-consuming. Your best bet is to start with less concrete than you need and make more as you go to avoid this problem.

Resurfacing concrete or asphalt driveways involves adding a new top layer to fill in large cracks and potholes. Repaving, however, removes all material from the previous driveway and fills the area in with new materials. Repaving is a chance to change the shape of your driveway and regrade the land.

You can apply an exposed aggregate finish to existing traditional concrete, but you’ll need to resurface the concrete and include aggregate in the top layer of concrete. You’ll also need to prepare the surface beforehand to ensure a good bond between the materials. Adding exposed aggregate is a job best handled by a concrete professional.

You can pour concrete over a cracked driveway, but it’s important to address the underlying issue first. Pouring new concrete over cracks without fixing any structural problems may lead to more cracks reappearing. A local driveway repair pro can assess whether crack repairs or driveway replacement is necessary before laying new concrete.
