"Tymur did a great job installing two ceiling fans for me. He worked quickly, knew exactly what he was doing, and made sure everything was set up properly. The fans look great and run perfectly. If you need a reliable handyman, I?d definitely recommend him!"

"Very professional and great to deal with! Catlin is terrific and great to work with. Our project required reworking the gas line and custom retrofitting the facing. He did a terrific job replacing our 30+ year old unit with an amazing new remote controlled unit. The project was done on time and within budget as stated."

"After very cold temps in early 2015 leading to many burst pipes in the area, it was hard to get a contractor on the phone. Even harder when you're an rental property owner living out of state! However, Jason took my calls, was willing to work with us from a distance, work with our tenants, work with my insurance adjustment needs, even met with me on a Saturday to go over the remodel plans (time I believe he usually protects for his young family that is supported by his ever-booked business). Given how in demand Jason and his team's work is, we still had to get in line for our work to get scheduled, but once initiated his crew was there daily- no subcontractors- to get the work done in the planned time allotted. When a few things weren't quite right after our final inspection, Jason didn't hesitate to come himself and address each item (small though they were), even though he had already been paid in full (this because we weren't able to travel to Pgh to see the final work until a couple months after the project was done, so of course paid him in full once completed even though we weren't there). He texted us pictures and updates along the way whenever requested. I completely trusted him and his crew and will definitely hire them again for any work we need done. Their tile work was especially impressive, working on our wonky concrete basement floor with really beautifully done sloped transitions, etc. They even accomodated us doing our own carpet tile work in part of the space to save money. The bathroom they did involved completely replumbing and insulating the space, reframing around pipes and truly finishing out the space from a junky old DIY bathroom from 1970 into a modern tiled shower and bathroom with new window, heated floors, brand new everything. They only part that was unexpected was they don't include finishes like towel bars/mirror in their work- that's left to the homeowner to pick out and add (though I'm sure if I had purchased them in advance he would have installed them for us). All in all, great company, great work, trustworthy, honest, and a nice family business that feels good supporting. AND they stayed on budget, no surprises. Hire them! :-)

"1st choice did a great job with our chimney. We had a lot of damage to our fireplaces because the chimney vented our furnace and the previous owners never added a liner. The 1st Choice team was able to clear out part of the collapsed inner walls of the chimney, run a liner down to the furnace and block off the other two sections to prevent further damage. Everyone was very friendly, they had great prices, and they worked on a holiday weekend to get the work done. We were very pleased with their work."

The average cost to hire a handyman ranges from about $40 to $140 per hour. Average project cost ranges between $180 and $700, but the cost per hour and per project depends heavily on the type, size, and complexity of the project. The pro’s experience level and your location also factor into how much a handyman charges per hour or per project. You can also expect to pay higher rates or additional fees for emergency services, or around periods of high customer demand, like holidays.
The cost of a gas grill burner ranges from $10 to $100 or more, depending on the brand. If you’re replacing one burner, consider replacing all the burners simultaneously. Although it will cost more upfront, it will save you the hassle of replacing a burner every few months, and your grill will cook more evenly and efficiently.
If your grill is relatively new or under warranty, it’s worth fixing. If the warranty has run out, find the cost of parts (usually a burner or grate that’s rusted out). If the parts cost more than half the price of a new grill, it’s worth buying a new one.
However, if your gas grill is a built-in unit as part of an outdoor kitchen, contact the grill manufacturer or distributor to check on warranty coverage. You should also contact a local gas grill repair technician to get an estimate for repairs or a price to replace your built-in grill.
Yes, you should hire a handyman who’s licensed, certified, and insured, if possible. States have different requirements for handyman licensing, registration, and certifications. If licensing is required in your area, you may pay more for a licensed handyman with experience than one who is not licensed or certified, but you’re likely to get a better end result for your project. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local handymen guidelines.
On average, a gas grill can last from five to 15 years. Most grill manufacturers offer an extended warranty, varying in coverage and terms. You can help extend the life of your grill by cleaning it inside and out to remove food, grease, and carbon deposits. Protect your gas grill from the elements with a grill cover to prevent it from rusting, lessening the frequency of repairs.
