"Donald L. and Nick H. did a wonderful job replacing my mother's cast iron 40 year bathtub with a beautiful and safe "walkin" shower (there was also a master plumber on site but I did not catch his name). My mother asked alot of questions and really looked over the completed work but the guys never lost patience with our questions or concerns. They even talked about future concerns we might have and answered those questions as well. The house was left immaculate and all trash was taken away. We were also a given a demonstration on the operation of her new shower. Great Job, Everyone!!!"

"Contractors did an immaculate job. I am very satisfied. Price was fair. Contractors were on time each day,and left no walls unfinished. Worked until sunlight was gone and even worked pass that time in the rain. Everyone was so nice and understanding from Scheduler Dawn to InspectorJosh,Plumber Lenny,Lorenzo and his Laborers and Electrician. Even had the pleasure of meeting the owner Dan who came to make sure I was happy with the work. They put me at ease."

"They provided a great service at an competitive price in replacing my heat pump and ac unit. After starting the project, they did whatever it took to get everything done as quickly as possible and was very communicative leading up to the install. All the experience of a large company with the personal service of a small one. I would highly recommend CLS Home Services!"

"I used Tin Lizzee to diagnosis my refrigerator. John S. was very knowledgeable and helpful in diagnosing the problem. Lucky for us it was a minor repair. This is a wonderful service that was quick and efficient and affordable. Unlike the other place that I called that wanted to charge me $89-129 for a diagnostic and could not come out until about 2 weeks later. I definitely will use Tin Lizzee again for future appliance issues. I will tell all my friends and family about this service also. Thank you John S and Tin Lizzee for such wonderful customer service."

"Bath Fitters end product was fine...but had to comeback for a full second day to redo shower walls not installed quite right. No extra charge but took a day out of my life. I am pleased with the final result"

Affordable Plumbers questions, answered by experts

If you’ve accessed the bolts and nuts that hold your toilet seat in place and can’t unscrew them, it’s possible that they were overtightened or that the material corroded over time, making it impossible to unscrew. If that’s the case, you can either call in a plumber for help, or you can DIY a solution if you’re careful. Lay down masking tape around the mounting bracket and then use the tape as a surface to lay a hack saw blade. Move slowly to cut through the bracket and bolt, being careful not to damage the porcelain in the process.

There’s no way around it—a burst pipe is often a homeowner’s worst nightmare, and the situation can range from semi-serious to dire. If you don’t catch the leak, it can lead to thousands of dollars worth of water damage.

At best, you’ll notice a burst pipe quickly, turn off your water supply, and use a wet vacuum to clean up minor flooding. A plumber can repair the pipe, and you won’t be left with a major bill. At worst, severe water damage can collapse floors, ceilings, walls, and foundations, sometimes leading to major repairs and renovations.

PEX pipe is safe for drinking water, though it wasn't always. PEX was introduced in European water supply systems in the 1980s, but early versions of the piping deteriorated when exposed to the higher chlorine levels in U.S. water supplies. Antioxidants were added to PEX piping to meet U.S. potable drinking water standards. Today, it’s commonly used for drinking water.

At most, polybutylene pipes last 10 to 15 years. The material is simply not durable enough to withstand some of the chemical elements found in our water supply, such as fluoride and chlorine. These pipes tend to deteriorate quickly and lead to leaks or even pipe bursts. If your home still has polybutylene pipes, we recommend replacing them as soon as possible to prevent major water damage in your home.

The main causes for a leaky toilet flapper include wear and tear or a broken or incorrectly installed toilet flapper chain. If your toilet flapper is torn or deteriorated, it can’t provide a proper seal to keep water from running. Meanwhile, a chain that has come loose, was moved, or just wasn’t installed right can prevent your flapper from fully closing.
