"Our bedroom makeover exceeded all expectations thanks to this talented interior designer. They completely transformed the concept, creating a calm and elegant space with a modern vibe. The addition of a wall in front of the built-in cabinets gave us the feel of a walk-in closet and smartly separated the sleeping and dressing areas, while still allowing natural light through a stylish rectangular opening. Thoughtful details like integrated outlets for tech gear made the design both beautiful and functional—we absolutely love the result!"

"We've had our lights for about a month now and love the look it gave to our home. These guys were very professional. We signed up for an estimate during the Pittsburgh Home and Garden Show. A few weeks later, Dave came to our house to do the demo/estimate. They do a great job by setting up a temporary, above-ground display to show you what your house will look like. We loved it enough to make the deal on the spot. The following week, the installers came out and put in the permanent fixtures. We had some hiccups along the way trying to get the fixtures we chose, but Dave made it right by putting in extra phone calls to find the style we wanted. The hardware they use, including the light fixtures, the transformer, and the timer, all seem to be high quality. We haven't had any problems, and I don't expect any for years to come. The only small cons could be the expense (though I believe this cost to be on par with competitors) and a few small sections of wiring that are exposed above ground (but I can bury these quite easily myself). Outside of that, these guys did an awesome job, and I would recommend them to friends and family without hesitation.

"Everything turned out fine. When it first arrived, it was damaged in the shipping. It took them quite a while to get something back to us, or even to call me back when I wrote to them. But then, once they got the ball rolling, it went very quickly. It took them probably about a month to even get back to me. The price was very good. Once somebody actually did speak with me, they were very responsive. They were pretty professional when I spoke to them. I just think that they were light on manpower."

"Needed two room prepped and painted. Rick had a great deal for Angie's List members so I called him. He is responsive and punctual. We figured out what his workers could accomplish in a day which was prepping, priming and painting the kitchen walls, ceiling and trim and prepping, priming walls and trim in living room and painting walls only. His workers were courteous and respectful. The painting work was well done. The rooms were put back in order well. A little detail was three screws from light switch plate were missing but overall a good experience."

"They were there the first day at 7:00 am which was a good sign but then they were there everyday after that at 7:00am which was amazing.  They were efficient, and very professional They said that the project would take approx 3 weeks but they were done in about 9 days.   They answered all of our questions and they were very responsive.  At the end of the first week we decided that we would like to have some low voltage lighting in the wall.  Not a problem, they hooked one up and left it on over night so that we could see the type of lighting and the effect.  They suggested the placement of the lights which worked out very well.
I would highly recommend them and would definitely use them again.

Lighting questions, answered by experts

High-quality landscape lights that are hardwired and properly maintained can last for 10 to 25 years or more. You’ll usually get a longer lifespan from soffit lights and wall-mounted lights that aren’t directly exposed to the elements or prone to damage from foot traffic or vehicle traffic. Solar-powered and battery-powered lights often won’t last as long, but you can still expect a lifespan of five to 15 years.

If your lights are shorting out during rain storms or other winter events, you should probably replace them. These shorts indicate electrical issues that could cause serious hazards. Look for outdoor-rated lights with connectors made for rainy conditions to replace them. But if your Christmas lights are new and you want further protection, you can find weatherproof covers to add to the male-end connectors of your Christmas light strings. These can minimize the risk of shorts.

Simple repairs like replacing bulbs can be DIY projects, but professionals should handle significant electrical repairs to ensure safety and compliance with electrical standards.

The average cost to install outdoor or landscape lighting is around $4,000, with most projects ranging from $2,000 to $6,000. The total cost can vary widely depending on several factors, including the number of fixtures, design complexity, and the type and quality of the lights used, such as wall sconces, pathway lights, or lamp posts. Other factors that influence the price are the square footage of the area being lit, the amount of electrical work needed, any required excavation or trenching, and local permitting costs. For specific types, you might pay around $100 for pathway or string lighting and up to $700 for lamp post lighting.

Between seasons, inspect cords for damage, replace burnt-out bulbs, and clean lighting fixtures to prevent dirt buildup. Proper storage in cool, dry conditions will extend the lights' lifespan and minimize repairs or replacements when redeployed.
