"Everything was fine with Closets by Design however we had a hiccup on installation since the floors in the house had to be replaced due to a manufacturers error and that was scheduled to coincide with the wall unit installation. We moved the install date back and the installer showed up exactly on time and completed the installation as designed. He left the house neat and clean and was very polite. Nice fellow."

"Project was to design and install a closet system for a large reach in closet. Estimator arrived on time, helped to design the closet and provided all the needed information. Installer was excellent and the closet looks beautiful. We are very pleased with all the services. David"

Wegman's Custom Carpentry, is your source for quality and integrity for all of your home remodeling projects. We have over 14 years of official experience in custom woodworking, trim work, and home remodeling projects. Your satisfaction is our number one priority, and all our work is guaranteed. We always respond quickly to your requests, always price fairly, and the work performed is of the highest caliber. We use the best in materials as well. We specialize in interior trim work and fine woodworking. Most customers, through no fault of their own, don't realize that there are two ways to join to pieces of wood. There's the first way where you do it the fastest way possible and hope it looks good one year from now, or the second way where you take your time and treat each joint as a piece of fine woodworking craftsmanship that will last as long as the wood itself. I approach all of my work as in the second approach and have never regretted it. Thank you for the chance to serve you.

"So we started in the garage, (huge job) then moved to the house, starting with my little garden house and basement. Darla and Ruth were amazing, this was at times a dusty and gritty job, but they are not afraid to tackle anything!! My kind of people! Then we continued inside the house, the attic was pretty full of collectibles, antiques and lots of clothing. We took almost all the clothing and some household items in good shape to Goodwill Industries here locally (so far 8 truck loads) but I feel this will do a lot of good for some people. Darla also was kind enough to help with suggesting people for storage/shipment and I found our auctioneer thru her suggestion, and this company is an excellent fit for us!!! What was most amazing, during the last week of organizing my husband had to go to the hospital and shortly after had quadruple bypass, so we suspended our organizing until we got my hubby home again. Words will never be enough to thank Darla for her compassion, caring and consideration during this ordeal. Darla called to see if I and my husband were okay and in need of help. This is going beyond the call of duty in a job, she is a friend and I feel honored to know her. In going thru this process, I can only say, if you need a professional, caring and considerate person to help you thru the maelstrom of organizing, decision making and moving, call on Darla Pompilio at "YOUR TASKS - OUR TIME LLC" both Darla and her side-kick Ruth are expert at what they do, and they WILL get it done. Oh, by the way now that my hubby is on the mend, I will again ask Darla to help me with further organizing to complete our move. Thank you again, Darla and Ruth, looking forward to completing the job with both of you, could not do it without you!! You ladies rock!!!"

Closets questions, answered by experts

Costs range from $2,000 to $10,000, depending on size, materials, and design complexity.

Adding a mudroom is one of the most budget-friendly home additions compared to other projects, costing between $8,000 and $16,000 on average. Not only is the room often quite small, but it also requires minimal fixtures or wiring to make the room practical. The most costly features include a weatherproof floor and an exterior door.

The time it takes to build a closet varies widely depending on the project's size, complexity, and level of customization. On average, construction can take anywhere from a few days to two weeks.

A simple reach-in closet might be completed in less than a day, while a more complex walk-in closet could take one to two days or more. A typical project often falls in the 2-to-5-day range. However, a large, highly customized walk-in closet that requires structural changes, like moving a load-bearing wall, will take significantly longer.

A professional contractor can provide the most accurate time estimate for your specific project. If you are planning a DIY build, it is best to budget additional time.

If you’re on a tight budget, the least expensive material you can buy for DIY closet shelves is chipboard, a.k.a. particle board. This inexpensive material is made from a pulp of sawdust, resin, and glue that’s pressed together under high temperature and pressure. As you can imagine, it’s not very sturdy and might buckle under your blue jean collection, so you should only use it if you’re storing very light items.

Plywood, MDF (medium-density fiberboard), and solid wood are all popular options for closet shelving. Plywood and solid wood are sturdy and ideal for extended shelves or heavy items. MDF is a budget-friendly choice for light to moderate storage, but it can sag under heavy weight if not adequately supported. Wire shelving is another alternative that allows airflow, making it especially useful in humid spaces such as laundry rooms or basements.
