"Everything was fine with Closets by Design however we had a hiccup on installation since the floors in the house had to be replaced due to a manufacturers error and that was scheduled to coincide with the wall unit installation. We moved the install date back and the installer showed up exactly on time and completed the installation as designed. He left the house neat and clean and was very polite. Nice fellow."

"I converted a bedroom to a dressing room and worked with the designer to come up with a design. Once installed, some adjustments were needed on one side, Closet America was easy to work with on the matter and quickly took care of things"

"I'm so happy I found Fabiano's Construction through Angie. Their work is really beautiful. I recommend them highly to anyone needing work on their homes. I replaced a shakey bannister. Here is the result."

Wegman's Custom Carpentry, is your source for quality and integrity for all of your home remodeling projects. We have over 14 years of official experience in custom woodworking, trim work, and home remodeling projects. Your satisfaction is our number one priority, and all our work is guaranteed. We always respond quickly to your requests, always price fairly, and the work performed is of the highest caliber. We use the best in materials as well. We specialize in interior trim work and fine woodworking. Most customers, through no fault of their own, don't realize that there are two ways to join to pieces of wood. There's the first way where you do it the fastest way possible and hope it looks good one year from now, or the second way where you take your time and treat each joint as a piece of fine woodworking craftsmanship that will last as long as the wood itself. I approach all of my work as in the second approach and have never regretted it. Thank you for the chance to serve you.

Closets questions, answered by experts

Common materials include wood, laminate, and wire. Choose based on durability, style, and budget.

Hanging and folding clothes are efficient ways to pack your clothes during a move. When choosing a packing method, consider the type of clothing you’re packing. For example, clothing such as dresses, suits, blouses, and items made of silk and similar fabrics are ideal for hangers. On the other hand, it’s easier to fold pants, shorts, t-shirts, thick sweaters, and more.

If you’re on a tight budget, the least expensive material you can buy for DIY closet shelves is chipboard, a.k.a. particle board. This inexpensive material is made from a pulp of sawdust, resin, and glue that’s pressed together under high temperature and pressure. As you can imagine, it’s not very sturdy and might buckle under your blue jean collection, so you should only use it if you’re storing very light items.

There are a few reasons custom closets are expensive: materials used, the luxury factor, and time to build. The people who can afford custom closets are those who can afford increased rates, and construction workers and contractors know this and charge accordingly. The time to build custom closets is substantial, especially if expensive material is being used or intricate details (like carved wood) are added to the project.

When you are securing your DIY home office built-ins to the wall, you should start by locating the wall studs. You'll then want to use long screws to attach the cabinets, shelves, and bookcases directly to the wall studs. Your built-ins will be far too heavy to attach to the drywall alone by using anchors.
