"Gary remodeled multiple bathrooms for our remodel of an 1899 house. Although Gary was only contracted to support the bathrooms remodels, he also took care of the multiple other jobs. Gary brings a great craftsmanship to the project and has artistic perspective that help make the project flow and support in progress decisions. Gary took care of everything in the bathroom including carpentry, tilework, electric and plumbing. Also Gary took care of numerous odd cleanup jobs from other contractors (drywell finishing, wire pulling. ). Looking forward to using Gary in the future."

Cabinet Refacing and Refinishing questions, answered by experts

Yes, cabinet makers continue to fabricate custom kitchen and other household cabinets for new construction homes. Cabinet makers also replace and renovate existing kitchen cabinets. The cost tends to be higher than choosing manufactured cabinets from a major retailer, but you get the cabinets specially designed and made to fit the unique needs of your space.

First, start with any planned structural changes. That includes demolition and installing new gas lines, piping, or lighting. From there, complete any projects that require a lot of construction to install. Paint your walls while the space is mostly empty, install the cabinets before the countertops to ensure the former doesn’t get damaged, and save all cosmetic changes (like installing new light fixtures or hardware) for the very last moment.

Technically, you can paint over stained cabinets without sanding. There are specialty paints that are made precisely for not sanding cabinets. However, many interior cabinet paints work just as well.

To make sure you have a smooth surface without sanding, you’ll need to degrease the cabinets thoroughly, add a bonding coat for strength, add primer, and then finally paint your cabinets. It’s still a process regardless of whether you sand your cabinets.

Use rugs in high-traffic areas, immediately clean up spills, and do regular dust mopping.

Yes, vinegar can break down the adhesive bond, effectively dissolving the glue from wood. It will be much easier to wipe away. Vinegar’s acidity, which helps to make it an effective all-purpose cleaner, can also aid in removing adhesive with less chance of damaging the wood and finish than more aggressive solvents.
