Residential Essentials by Gary Miller

Gary remodeled multiple bathrooms for our remodel of an 1899 house. Although Gary was only contracted to support the bathrooms remodels, he also took care of the multiple other jobs. Gary brings a great craftsmanship to the project and has artistic perspective that help make the project flow and support in progress decisions. Gary took care of everything in the bathroom including carpentry, tilework, electric and plumbing. Also Gary took care of numerous odd cleanup jobs from other contractors (drywell finishing, wire pulling. ). Looking forward to using Gary in the future.

It was a weekend and he came right away to save the day. He was a lifesaver and so kind, fair, and came as soon as he could from his other project that was not far away.

Excellent! Gary was detail-oriented and really cared about giving us just what we wanted. Particularly awesome is the level/plumb shower pan he poured, which made our tiling of it much easier. If our plans presented an execution problem, he came up with solutions/options and talked things through with us.

I called 4 different plumbers in the area, knowing that I'd probably pay through the nose for an emergency call right before Christmas, but didn't have any choice. Gary is the only one that actually answered my call and said he could stop by. He already had a job, but changed up his schedule to help us out. He got a replacement shower head and nozzle that night, and stopped by Wednesday morning. Despite several problems due to the plumbing in the bathroom dating back to 1979 when the house was built, he got everything replaced in about 4 hours. When he turned the water back on afterward, there was no leaking, no drips, no broken tub or anything. Everything worked perfectly the first try, which has been very rare for us in this house. He also gave me some good advice on the other plumbing-related issues we've had, and offered to stop back whenever we want to fix up the other small random drips and leaks we have. In the end, we got the shower head, the tub faucet, and the temperature/water control knob replaced, and it didn't ruin Christmas for us. We also found our new plumber. We're definitely going to be calling him back after the New Year to look at the other issues we have and get them fixed.

Very professional and polite. Cleanup each day. Arrived same time and usually left at same time each day. Always available by telephone.

I called G.M. re an appointment and we agreed on a date and time. He never showed for that appointment. When I called him again, he said he was busy and had forgotten. We agreed to another date and time. He did show up and evaluated the work to be done. He said he'd get back to us within a week and we never heard from him again.I think if he didn't want the job, or thought it was too complicated, he should have just told us immediately instead of saying he would work up an estimate.

It went well. Because it is our only full bath, time was of the essence. Gary was able to complete the work in the amount of time quoted, which is extra amazing when you know that our house is over 100 years old and nothing is plumb or ever as simple as it should be! I would used Gary Miller for future remodeling projects and would recommend him to friends.

Excellent. Gary is equipped with the proper tools, knowledge, and experience to handle just about anything I throw at him. He can replace a light bulb or rewire a house. He is awesome at tile work, we are still loving the kitchen floor tile he laid for us 9 years ago. He knows the construction trades very well and can be trusted to do it right. Good personality and a pleasure to do business with. Reasonably priced, too.

It went great. Gary and Kyle did a fantastic job. Very particular about the finished product. We had a fiberglass shower taken out and a tile shower put in. The entire bathroom is tile now and we are so happy with it.. I

Residential Essentials did a beautiful job on my tile back splash- beautiful white subway tile with black grout! It looks great and they were amazingly fast too! They did a great job cleaning up after themselves and were overall great to work with.  I am planning to use them for my bathroom re-model.  I highly recommend them as they were incredibly capable and affordable. 

From the very beginning Gary listened closely to what we were looking for in this bathroom re-model. He made excellent suggestions when we were unsure aesthetically where to go as well as what practically works and doesn?t. But he did not impose his ideas on ours. We could tell he thought things out very thoroughly and would not waste time or resources. Gary can make most anything work if the homeowner is willing to pursue it. Our 1911 house indeed needed much work.

Our first floor bathroom had to be stripped to the studs, ripping out all wiring and plumbing, ceiling, walls and floor. Even the wiring down to the circuit breakers in the basement. We literally re-started from scratch, creating a new smaller bathroom and a beautiful, very functional hallway closet. What makes the bathroom most dazzling is the hand tile job Gary did, artistically placing each small tile on the walls and in the shower stall. It is unique and truly a work of art. While everything is new and beautiful, it retains an old house charm, even an antique feel to it. My wife choose all the fixtures, tile colors, curtains, and lighting and Gary listened very closely to what she wanted and put it together, again and literally, like artwork.

Unlike other contractors we have used for another bathroom job, he did not cut corners or surprise us with "add ons?. He clearly explained everything he thought needed to be done and gave us options and choices. We feel like we not only got top quality craftsmanship in style but the ?bones? of the job, what?s underneath what you see, is very well done, too. 

Another important factor for us was trust. Gary was very forthcoming and proved himself completely reliable. His helper, Kyle, worked very hard and they got the job done in a most timely manner.

I cannot recommend Gary enough. He can do high end, top quality work like for our home, or more affordable work using more affordable materials. He is completely honest and just simply needs to hear from the customer what they want and what they can afford.
