"Jason is incredible! He worked on my stone driveway. It is about half a mile, has a downhill slope, and it has not been maintained in over 6 years. Severely washed out. In less than 8 hours and with one machine he fixed it. I have lived here 23 years and it has never been this nice!"

"Rich and his crew did a great job resurrecting and adding on to my driveway. It was in pretty bad shape and the cut out the part of the driveway that had deteriorated from a previous water issue and tree removal. They brought in stone and tamped it all in and my driveway looks brand new. They also hauled in 3 yards of topsoil to blend in with the landscape. Very professional and would highly recommend!"

The driveway apron is a technical term referring to where a private driveway meets the public street. If there is a sidewalk in front of the house, the driveway apron is typically on the opposite side of the public sidewalk from the driveway itself.

If your driveway is cracked, you can repave it with a process called asphalt overlay. Overlay is more cost-effective than a full replacement but is better suited for minor cracks and issues. If your driveway has deep cracks, potholes, or drainage issues (or if it’s simply past its prime), replacement might be the smarter investment over constant repairs. Resurfacing can be a cheaper alternative at $3 to $20 per square foot, but it won’t fix your driveway’s underlying problems.

While some areas may allow for a slope of up to 20%, this is often the maximum slope for driveways, with a few exceptions of up to 25%. Other regions may have a maximum of 12%, 15%, or 18%, so check with your local building department to ensure you’re laying a driveway that is up to code for your location.
