"WB Lightning Rods did an excellent job installing lightening rods on our home. The owner stayed onsite the entire time to supervise the work. He took extra care to plan the rod and cable placement to ensure the proper protection and retain the aesthetics of our home. His crew were knowledgeable, polite, neat and efficient. We could not be more pleased with the results."

"We had been
looking for a state of the art solar power system, using the latest technology in
solar and battery backup.

It was hard
finding a company that could stabiles power in our home and give us what we
wanted.  The power from the local power
company was always over high voltage or very low shorting the life of my electronics
and motors in my home and workshop.    It
was hard finding a company that knew what they was doing and giving a good
price for what we wanted. The Company Renewable Engineered Systems RESllc  was the only one that was able to do this.           Only 1 volt flux of voltage  There system acts like a cpasator in my home
and give us very clean power this will extend the life of all my electronics
and motors that i have in my freezers and fringes and well pump.

This works day to day plus if the grid goes
down, my house will still be running with solar power"

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Homes in Lock Haven are ideal for electrical upgrades if they have accessible crawl spaces or attics, a modern electrical panel with at least 100 amps, and a dry basement—especially important in areas near the river. Houses built after the 1980s typically require fewer updates, while older homes, especially those with stone foundations or original wiring, may need more extensive modernization before starting any electrical project.

Helpful?

Lock Haven’s cold winters, humid summers, and frequent thunderstorms mean electrical materials must handle significant moisture and temperature swings. Outdoor installations require weatherproofing to prevent water intrusion from snow and rain. Surge protection is crucial during storm season, which can bring power fluctuations. The most reliable time for electrical projects in Lock Haven is late spring or early fall, when the weather is milder and work conditions are safer.

Helpful?

In Lock Haven, develop a seasonal inspection routine by checking outdoor outlets and basement wiring each spring for any winter-related wear or corrosion. Before summer, test all GFCI outlets and surge protectors to prepare for storm season. In fall, inspect attic and crawl space wiring before heating systems run. During winter, watch for ice buildup near exterior electrical panels. This approach helps address Lock Haven’s unique weather patterns year-round.

Helpful?

In Lock Haven, older homes with thick stone foundations, plaster walls, or original knob-and-tube wiring often present challenges for electrical upgrades. Finished basements and multi-story Victorian layouts can limit access to wiring. Properties close to the Susquehanna River may require elevated electrical components due to flood risk. If your electrical panel is in a flood-prone area or you notice outdated or DIY wiring, consult a local professional before starting.

Helpful?

For electrical projects in Lock Haven, prioritize copper wiring for its durability in the region’s fluctuating temperatures. Use THWN-2 wire for reliable insulation against humidity and moisture, which are common in Lock Haven homes. Install GFCI outlets in areas prone to dampness, like basements and garages. Weatherproof electrical boxes and surge protectors are essential, especially in neighborhoods near the Susquehanna River, where storms and flooding are more frequent.
