"I hired this company. They sent me a very professional sales person who spent time with us to show us what they could do to replace just the two leaded glass panels in our solid wood front =door. We were very pleased with the salesman and he gave us lots of information, answered all our questions. We will be visited by the project manager next week to take measurements and then they manufacture the panels and will install them when they are completed."

"I’m extremely happy with the work! He installed my exterior sliding glass door and did an awesome job from start to finish. He was very punctual, communicated everything clearly, and was very professional. The price was also very reasonable for the quality of work. I would definitely recommend him to anyone needing this type of service!"

"The work took about a week to complete, although Dan used a plumber who installed the shower hardware and fixtures and the floor and glass for the shower. That took a few weeks longer to install because the glass needed to be measured and specially ordered. But it was worth the wait!"

"Contacted Mark for an estimate in late May; evaluated against other estimates and moved forward with work in early June. Mark and his crew showed up exactly as communicated and completed all work within a single day. The work included: repointing all mortar underneath our front window (rotted out due to leaky gutter... need to find a good gutter guy too); completely removing old chimney bricks and relaying/flashing new chimney bricks and pouring a new chimney cap (small chimney). The team did a great job installing and flashing the chimney; the roof line made it hard for them to line everything up perfectly, but the finished product looks solid. They also did good work repointing the mortar under the window. The old mortar was not easy to match, and the colors are close (not absolutely perfect); that said, I couldn't have asked for a better match. Also, I raised one concern with Mark regarding pointing the bricks under the window sill; he immediately addressed the problem with no questions asked. I would definitely hire this group again."

"I purchased two coupons for a total of 5 hours to hang the cabinets in my garage, install shoe moulding and patch two bathroom ceilings where I had the exhaust fans replaced.  It was decided that since the cabinets might be heavy, it would be best to have two technicians come out at one time.  One arrived about 20 minutes early, which was fine and the other just a few minutes after 2pm.  The first one immediately got to work installing the cabinets and was able to do it without his partner by setting the cabinet on another cabinet and some blocks of wood.  The installation only took a little over an hour and looks great.  He then installed the shoe moulding in a bedroom where we had installed wood flooring.  There are a couple of gaps where the wood comes together, which could have been cut a little better, but overall it looks fine.
While this work was being done, Bryan got to work patching the holes in the ceiling left behind from a prior exhaust fan that had been quite a bit larger and round.  That work wasn't quite as well executed, but overall I'm happy with Myriad.

Glass Block questions, answered by experts

Heavy glass tends to be more expensive than thin glass because it is stronger and more durable. In most cases, ¼-inch-thick glass is ideal for mirrors, and ⅛-inch-thick glass is ideal for residential windows. Heavier glass isn’t always necessary, and can be more challenging to hang or install. Work with a local window installation pro for replacement or new construction windows.

DIY is possible for small projects, but professional installation ensures proper sealing, structural integrity, and a precise finish.

You can still see vaguely into some types of glass block windows at night. Although there won’t be clear definitions, passersby may still see shapes, shadows, and movement through the glass. If you want complete privacy, consider installing diamond glass block windows rather than the typical clear or wavy glass blocks.

Glass block windows typically last for 15 to 30 years, which is slightly less than the 20- to 50-year lifespan of standard windows. You can extend their life by resealing them every few years. Professional installation is also key to ensuring the windows are placed correctly and will function properly for years to come. A professional installer will have the necessary skills, tools, and knowledge to install these features and can identify potential issues like damaged frames or cramped areas during a consultation.

Luckily, glass block windows need minimal maintenance. Other than regular cleaning, the only maintenance involved in having a glass block window is inspecting for cracks every year and applying sealer to the mortar joints if the blocks are set in masonry mortar. Glass block windows hold up well against wind and moisture better than traditional windows and are not prone to rot.
