Mark Pawling and his crew recently installed stone veneer on our home and did an exceptional job! My husband and I witnessed Mark's hard-working team for two weeks and saw firsthand how skilled they are at their trade and conscientious, too. We also appreciated how accommodating they were when we had suggestions throughout the project. Great job guys!!! We couldn't be happier with the results. Many thanks.

Project took a little longer than expected with making the forms for the cement, as the man doing the work didn't understand exactly how Mark Pawling wanted it done. Mark was at a different job site and not available. However, once Mark was here things went much better. Overall he and his crew did an excellent job, and made sure we were happy with the job. The job started on Monday and was completed to our complete satisfaction the following week on Tuesday. I felt Mark really listened to us and did the work the way we wanted it done.

We received several estimates and Mark's was by far the best.  He was easy to get a hold of and communicated the whole way through the process.  He came on a Saturday and finished the job in a day.  He even gave us options for mortar color which ended up matching the existing mortar perfectly.  We are happy with the results as the chimney looks better and more importantly is structurally sound, we're now less worried about leaks and further deterioration.  We will definitely consider Mark for future masonry work around our house.

I found them on Angie's List. They came out promptly. It took the probably three weeks from start to finish and another week to do the touch-up work that I requested. When I called originally, the owner called me back on the weekend. He sent his foreman out to meet me the following week. He came out and we looked over the plans. They were excellent. They were timely and friendly. They were courteous and professional. They cleaned up on a daily basis after they did their work. Their concern was the total satisfaction of the customer. The crew matched the expectations of the foreman. The foreman matched my expectations. I was thrilled. They are fantastic. They were great.

Sent 3 people who worked for 2 days to patch up and replace some bad masonry. He also had a roofer come in to check possible leaks spots. Made good suggestions and completed the work very well.

Mark Pawling is a very nice contractor, and he and his crews do a good job.  Our fireplace was leaking and several grout courses needed to be regrouted.  This was done very quickly, and, when the leak was noticed to still be present after the repairs, Mark came out and repaired a few more courses of grout that still were contributing to the leak.  Problem solved.

contacted mark last year for estimate. due to lateness of the year mark said he would do the work first thing in spring of 2014.
Mark's people came in and worked without interruption to get job finished quickly. job was very well done and looks great.

This work was done in late winter and the concern was to eliminate any disruption to the lawn. The project was completed on time, on budget and the lawn was perfect due to the "plywood road" laid prior to start. I have another masonry project coming up this spring (2014) and have already contacted Mark.

Mark's employee arrived on time and got right to work. It was HOT (first week in September), but he worked tirelessly. After prepping the site, he cribbed the area, put in a good, deep stone base, then rebar, and poured the concrete. He figured just the right amount of drop from the house to the yard so that rain did not puddle near the door. I would estimate that the finished surface has no more than 1/8 of an inch variance from level all around - pretty nice.

The man and his sub-contractor were good. He answers and explains anything that my husband had questions about. My husband wasn't happy on the garage door that they did so they adjusted it and it solved the problem.

Due to other, probably larger projects, ours was put a bit on the backburner and finished later than initially thought, but it was no sweat for us.
The repointing was done well and thoroughly, as far as we can judge, but we had some issues with the water-proofing. The agreement was that our windows would be covered while that Hydropel (water repel) stuff is sprayed upon the bricks, but that didn't happen, so we ended up with sprinkles on several windows. Plus the job was done so fast that I did not quite believe it had been done thoroughly. Considering the price for the project, the resulting salary per hour would have been huge.
After indicating that to the owner, he had two guys come out again, clean up all soiled window panes, and thoroughly re-do the entire water-proofing while covering the windows with plastic sheets.
All's well, I suppose.
