"Excellent experience from sales to installation. Robert was personable and thorough and was able to accommodate our need for quick installation. The team that installed the flooring were professional and worked hard. They encountered unexpected problems, but got them resolved right away. Part of the floor had to be sanded to eliminate uneven spots and they quickly got it done. They pointed out a floor-installed elec. outlet that had been covered by carpet and advised how to make it safe, even bringing in their own electrical guy to rewire it. Even though they were not installing carpet, they brought in someone who worked with carpeting to deal with a peripheral carpet issue. There was no extra charge for these two people coming out to ensure everything was done perfectly. They did a great job. I would recommend this company and those installers to anyone."

"What a great team!  I didn't call with very much notice at all but they were able to fit me into their schedule within about 4 days of my call.  We had just moved and left the house with a lot of boxes and things out of place.  They asked for a detailed list of what we needed done. Number 1 on my list was my sad looking bathtub and sink.  I thought it was irredeemably stained but just asked them to do their best.  They were able to remove virtually all of the staining!  It looks so nice!  They powered through my list and even managed to find time to clean the floors in my kitchen and bathroom - something I hadn't asked for because I was worried I was leaving too long a list.  Very nice crew, very thorough job.  I would absolutely recommend them!"

"

I live in an old, old house that is not easy to clean, and I'm a terrible housekeeper myself.  So when I decided to throw a small party, I knew I needed outside help.  Angie's was offering a deal, so I grabbed it, and I was glad that I did.  Angie sent one staff member who was prompt, friendly, and efficient -- professional in every respect.  I told her she wouldn't be able to clean my living room because it was overstuffed with furniture that was meant for another room, but she snuck in and ran the vacuum cleaner in that room anyway, which was good because my guests used that room despite the crowded furniture.  My plan is to continue to watch for discounts offered by this service and to take advantage of them, hopefully around holidays.

"Hired Phil for a mostly small job, 2 rooms, stairs and hallway. First contractor of this service type I've ever used and was outstanding to work with. He explained his equipment, the products & methods, and the reasonable expectations of cleaning my particular carpeting up front. I've used RugDoctor brand self carpet cleaner machine previously to initially good results but long term unsatisfactory results (carpet stains came back seemingly worse in several wks). Phil explained why that happened and why his machine which uses over 700 psi of pressure along with his detergents, will get virtually anything in your carpet fibers and you can see and smell the difference + freshness within minutes. Price was discussed prior to service, very reasonable for this kind of work and he also helped move some furniture for no additional charge. The other unique aspect of Phils business is his availability, which he advertises is Monday-Sunday at any mutually agreeable time. My service was actually completed on a Sunday at 7pm, well outside the business hrs of most commercial cleaners. Plan to use him for additional carpetwork and wood floor polishing which he also specializes in. Very good experience and great contractor, you carpeting will be renewed and you will not be disappointed!"

Floor Polishers questions, answered by experts

Before installing shoe molding, evaluate redoing or refinishing any floors and painting your walls or baseboard before putting on your shoe molding. If you don’t already have baseboard trim, you should install that before adding shoe molding. Shoe molding is the final touch. Additionally, a carpenter or other professional that’s installing shoe molding might also give you a deal on installing crown molding and replacing other trim if you get them done at the same time.

Before starting on a full refinishing project, determine if your floors need to be completely sanded down to the bare wood or if the damage is shallow and mostly cosmetic. Deep scratches and gouges will require you to rough sand using a drum sander or belt sander, but small surface scratches or floors that have only lost their luster don’t need a complete overhaul. Instead, you can skip the rough sanding step and sand-screen the old finish with a buffer, removing only the top layer of polyurethane.

Baking soda is an excellent choice for a natural dog urine neutralizer. You can sprinkle it on a stain, leave it overnight, and then vacuum it in the morning to help rid your hardwoods of the dog urine smell. Hydrogen peroxide is another odor neutralizer, but be careful not to mix it with other household cleaners.

The best solution for mopping floors depends on the type of floor you have, but a good all-around or multi-purpose DIY floor cleaner is 2 cups of warm water, 5 to 10 drops of liquid dish soap, and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. This is safe to use on tile, laminate, wood, polished concrete, vinyl, and more, as it’s relatively neutral and lacks caustic and abrasive chemicals that could be harmful to children and pets. You can also use a multi-purpose commercial cleaner, but make sure to follow the directions for safety.

Most DIY floor cleaners don’t require rinsing, but you’ll want to make sure you don’t add too much dish soap or oil to the cleaner to avoid having to rinse it after cleaning. For non-wood floors, mix 8 parts warm water, 1 part vinegar, and 1 part baking soda with a few drops of dish soap. For wood floors, use olive oil in that same mixture instead of the vinegar. You can let these solutions air-dry after cleaning your floors with them, although you should manually dry your floors if they aren’t waterproof.
