"They are customer centric. They came to the job and asked questions about what I wanted and /or thought I needed. He went thru the house and the two car garage reviewing the scope of the project. He was flexible in his scheduling so it could be completed before family arrived for the weekend. Gave me a fair estimate and explained additional work needed to complete the project Before he did the additional work! He sent his invoice the day of completion. I received it by email and mailed my check immediately. Great to find Pros that have a passion for their work product. I would recommend this Contractor to anyone, anytime. Angelo M. - Penfield, PA"

"WB Lightning Rods did an excellent job installing lightening rods on our home. The owner stayed onsite the entire time to supervise the work. He took extra care to plan the rod and cable placement to ensure the proper protection and retain the aesthetics of our home. His crew were knowledgeable, polite, neat and efficient. We could not be more pleased with the results."

"Very pleased with the finished work. Donny did a great job with everything, he really knows what he is doing. Put a new service entrance in, new breaker box in the basement, fixed up an old dryer plug and some new wiring. I have a few other smaller projects and he will be my go to guy. Thanks again Donny."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

No, because amps and volts measure very different things. However, you can use basic equations to find amps or volts by using data about one of the measurements to calculate the other.

If the outlet is a GFCI model, this is normal since these outlets have their own breakers that shut off when they encounter a problem—just hitting the reset button should solve the issue. Otherwise, the outlet could have bad wiring, or your circuit breaker could be having issues. If the issue started out of nowhere and is not on a GFCI outelt, it’s best to contact an electrician to diagnose the issue.

Yes, the majority of appliances that run at 240v will work with a 220v outlet, but will often run slower and may have a slight delay in turning on. This could also cause long term damage to the appliance being used, so it’s recommended to always use the correct voltage for your appliance and upgrade to a 240v outlet if needed.

If one plug in your outlet works but the other doesn't, it could be due to a few reasons. The outlet might have a loose or damaged internal connection on the non-working side. Another possibility is that the outlet is a split receptacle, with one half controlled by a wall switch that might be turned off. Additionally, debris or damage inside the non-working plug could prevent a proper connection. If you can't identify the issue, remember to prioritize safety. Replace the outlet or consult a professional electrician to ensure safety and proper functionality.

The easiest way to determine the amperage of your electrical outlets is to check the corresponding breaker in your home’s breaker panel. The number is likely noted on the circuit breaker. If that fails, it’s possible to tell 15-amp and 20-amp outlets apart by looking at them. Fifteen-amp outlets have two vertical holes, while 20-amp outlets have one vertical hole and one T-shaped hole.
