"Great job! They cleaned 10 years on pollen, dirt and mold off the entire house and removed the loose stain and paint from our front deck. The vinyl siding color is back to nearly new. The appearance is dramatic. They let me know what time they were coming on the day scheduled for the work and showed up on time."

"LeafFilter doesn't clean gutters, they sell and install their LeafFilter Gutter products and only clean the gutters if you buy their product. I can't even begin to afford their product so I wasn't able to get my gutter cleaned by them."

Small jobs welcome

"My sisters and I were tasked with cleaning out our childhood home, that included a fridge and freezer full of food, that had been without power since May. Chris and Gary were friendly, professional and exceeded our expectations. They were efficient and answered our numerous questions. Their friendly demeanor made a potentially stressful situation nonexistent."

"We have had Brian fix numerous things in our home over the past number of years. He has replaced the flooring & toilets in our 2 bathrooms, fixed some drywall, hinges on my kitchen cabinets & most recently painted our bedroom & replaced our deck. He takes pride in his work & his prices are reasonable. I trust his judgement with advice as we discuss projects & he is usually right. I would highly recommend Brian for whatever project you may have."

Deck Cleaning questions, answered by experts

No, termites do not eat Trex or any other composite decking brand. Termites eat cellulose, of which composite decking like Trex contains very little compared to natural wood. This feature can help justify the higher Trex decking costs if you live in an area with abundant termites.

No, you don't need to stain Ipe decking, although you can if you want to change the color. You will, however, need to apply a UV coating if you don't want the natural color to fade. Speak to a deck staining specialist near you to discuss the best options if you want to stain your decking. And remember that you’ll need to seal your Ipe wood deck annually to protect it from scratches and Mother Nature.

The life expectancy of deck boards varies widely based on the material, climate, and maintenance. Untreated wood boards typically last 10 to 30 years with proper care, while pressure-treated boards can last up to 50 years. Hardwoods generally outlast softwoods. Composite boards also tend to last longer than natural wood. Environmental factors like arid or humid climates can shorten a deck's lifespan. To extend the life of wood decking, it's important to consistently clean and seal it to protect against moisture, UV light, and insects.

Yes, deck footings typically require an inspection before laying down concrete. While not all local building codes require footing inspection, proper placement ensures a safe and structurally sound deck. An inspector will verify that the deck can adequately hold what you put on top of it., and that the footings have been dug to the correct dimensions.

You can build an outdoor kitchen on a deck, but you should choose composite decking since it's more heat-resistant. Metal deck materials like steel and aluminum are also good choices because they're less flammable than wood. You should also consider the weight of the kitchen—make sure your deck can support it and any appliances you plan to use. You should consult a structural engineer to confirm exactly how much weight your deck can safely support when building an outdoor kitchen.
