Customers say: True professional

"I had a complicated job that required repairing the ceiling in an 18-foot foyer area. The foyer area is very narrow due to the stairs, so setting up equipment to reach the ceiling is a challenging task. Thankfully, I came across Mike Klitchko, a seasoned professional who skillfully set up scaffolding in a very narrow space. Mike's expertise proved invaluable. He seamlessly repaired the drywall, and then painted the entire ceiling. I am truly impressed by Mike's professionalism, attention to detail, and exceptional skill. I have full confidence in his abilities and will not hesitate to reach out to him for any future repair needs. Thank you, Mike, for a job well done."

"Ken did a complete bathroom remodel for us from the floor to the ceiling. He was always on time and the whole remodel was finished on time. The work was great and weeks after he finished, we wanted the water temperature adjusted and Ken responded quickly . Ken is a easy person to deal with and he does not over charge or adjust his estimated cost higher after he starts the remodel."

"The work was messy but The crew was very hard working. The jackhammer hit a pipe under our sink. They came back to fix that. While the amount of water was drastically reduced in our basement, I will never feel secure enough to finish it. They have returned 4-5 times to troubleshoot the problem because their service has a lifetime guarantee. The last time they came (2 years after original job) they added another sump pump and redug one of the ditches. It seems to have helped but I still see a very small amount of water seeping through a few cracks in the floor. With two small kids in the house, it's exhausting to keep having service people in and out of your house. I'm not happy it took so many visits, but I think overall that they were fairly quick in responding to my calls and getting out to our house."

"Everything from the start was handled professionally. Being that I have never been involved in having to deal with this kind of damage to my house requiring me to find my own contractor willing to start the job not knowing what could be involved once it was started. Only having the small estimate that my insurance gave me Chris showed more concerned about how to get me back in my home then how much money he would make on the job.
There was a lot involved and he started just before the winter hit in 2013.
Here are the details.
Before any work could be started the owner of the other house who live in New York had to be contacted to get permission to cross the property line slightly which was needed to do the proper repairs.  Chris contacted the owner, wrote a letter and had it checked by a lawyer so he could start the job then went on to deal with the township which were giving me a hard time.
I did not have to do any of it.
At the start of the job everyone was sure there was a common firewall between the houses but it turned out that there was not.  Only the first floor had a wall not the second and third plus the bathroom wall had to be removed and there was nothing under the floor just a hole going under from the other house.  This was more work then Chris quoted me for but he continued on the job even though I had to submit this information to my insurance company with no guarantee they would pay the extra money he needed to do the job.
Chris and his guys continued working in the winter even when it was so cold I would not have done it.  If it was not for his professionalism an thinking ahead the pipes in the bathroom would have frozen and broke.  To keep this from happening he built an outside structure with heat so he could fix the whole and put up the wall. I found him to be very creative in rebuilding the outside wall and went above and beyond what any other contractor I think would have.
I now have a professional looking vinyl outside wall where the old house was attached. Let's not forget about the inside where a new great looking drop ceiling was installed, new carpeting installed, attic bedroom repaired and newly remodeled bath room that looks great and my wife is in love with.  I could not be more pleased with the work that was done.
As for the owner Chris.  He is professional, friendly, takes care of any concerns or complaints you have promptly, anything that he feels is not done correctly or you it is done again until it's right and he was available to me seven days a week day or night when I need to talk to him.
This is the contractor you want to hire.  I will be recommending him to everyone and continue using his services in the future."

Popcorn Ceilings questions, answered by experts

Although texturing walls may not seem like a lengthy project, you’ll need to set aside between one and five days to complete it properly. The exact amount will depend on the scope of your project—one room will take less than a whole-house project. That will give you enough time for tasks that are time-consuming in and of themselves, like taping wall edges, priming the walls and letting them dry fully, and actually applying the texture and top or base paint coats.

Professionals use spraying or painting machines for application, skimming and filling for repairs, or specialized scraping techniques for safe removal.

On average, repairing a ceiling costs anywhere from $450 to $1,750. However, there are many variables that can impact the price of this project. For example, the type of ceiling material, type and extent of the damage, and local labor rates all affect your costs. Holes and cracks are less expensive to fix, while structural issues and water damage are pricier problems.

Most handy homeowners can tackle removing texture from unpainted walls. Removing texture from painted walls is a bit trickier. Paint acts as a sealant, so you can’t soften the texture with water. Instead, you’ll have to add a layer of drywall compound known as a skim coat. This process is messy and takes some practice.

If your popcorn ceiling contains asbestos, you must hire a professional asbestos removal company to handle the disposal. If your popcorn ceiling does not have asbestos, you can call a popcorn ceiling removal specialist to handle the job. Otherwise, you can hire a drywall or painting professional to handle the job, depending on what you need done.
