"Josh called back right away and was pleasant on the phone. He came to the house at the time he said he would and removed our area rugs to clean at his facility. He then cleaned the wall-to-wall carpet in our home. He did a great job, was knowledgeable, friendly and kind. We will absolutely call when the carpets need to be cleaned in the future."

"Greg faced a serious challenge with my 25 year old carpet that had never been professionally cleaned before. He exceeded expeditions, and we will hire his company again when needed. Thanks!"

"Tom Harper is the BEST! I was moving into my sister’s house and we needed to make room. Tom did everything and after totally cleaning out years of memories and clutter, we achieved our goal. He recycled, donated, moved furniture up and downstairs and reorganized the attic and garage. We are able to fit both cars into the garage, and put hanging racks for clothes into the attic. Tom is very cheerful and upbeat and keeps us moving! Our time is busy, but very efficient. I’m sure we may need some more organization in the future and will definitely have Tom help us! Sincerely MaryKay Foster and Veronica Boettger"

House Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Yes, if you’re strapped for supplies, boiling hot water can be a great alternative for getting rid of soap scum. However, as this method calls for a bit of soaking, it’s best used when cleaning your bathroom sink or bath basin (or on small objects you can submerge). All you have to do is plug your sink or bathtub drain and pour in enough boiling water to cover the soap scum. Allow it to soak for five minutes, drain, and follow up with an additional hot water rinse to remove any lingering residue.

Our guide can also work for old tomato stains. If you’re trying to get rid of a lingering spot from spaghetti dinners past, you can skip step one and jump directly to step two.

Pro tip: Allow soaking time for older stains. We recommend waiting at least 10 minutes between applying your cleaning solution and blotting it up.

Smoke smell and odors typically will not go away completely on their own, especially once the particles have penetrated porous materials like walls, floors, ceilings, and furniture. While airing out affected items can help the smell subside over time, it often lingers for months or even years. To effectively remove stubborn smoke odors, you should combine several methods. Start with a thorough deep cleaning and deodorizing using substances like baking soda or activated charcoal. Air purifiers can also help capture airborne particles. In severe cases, you may need to replace heavily damaged materials. If the smell persists after repeated treatments, consider hiring a professional smoke damage restoration company for assistance.

If you don’t have the time or ability to move your fridge, grab a yardstick and slide it underneath to unearth any large items and dust bunnies. Then, attach a microfiber cloth or a tube sock to the yardstick, spray it with a multipurpose cleaner, and sweep it around several times to pick up any lingering messes.

To neutralize mildew smell, you can use natural deodorizers like baking soda or activated charcoal. Baking soda absorbs odors; sprinkle it liberally on the affected area, let it sit for a few hours, then vacuum it up. Activated charcoal, available in pouches, works similarly. Vinegar, with its natural acidic properties, can also neutralize odors. Mix equal parts water and vinegar, spray the affected area lightly, then blot it with a dry cloth. Enzymatic cleaners are effective too, breaking down odor-causing compounds.
