"My wife and I just had Oakland give us a quote, plan and then install, pour, a 8.5 cubic yard patio after removing the trex deck that it was time to retire around our inground pool. After removal of the deck it was discovered that there was electrical work that needed to be rerun to our pool pump house and a Jacuzzi we were replacing. This they had no problem incorporating into the job without batting an eye. Communication was good. And from the plan, to scheduling, to actually accomplishing the task, considering the bad weather we were having, everything was done professionally, and on time in spite of whatever obstacles were thrown in the way. The crew was professional and courteous, and went out of their way to protect all that was necessary around what they were doing. They went out of their way to meticulously clean up the job and ensure everything was to our complete satisfaction before calling it done. All was done in a timely manner in spite of the atrocious weather they had to work around and through in getting it finished. "I've been a bit remiss in submitting this review, but now that I am looking forward to having Burke Construction perform their 5th project for me, I figured I should write my review on their 4th project.
Burke built a small deck off of my dining room. The ground tends to be a bit pesky around this 175 year old farm house; you just never know what you will find when you start to dig. We knew that of the front 2 footings for this deck, one would be very close to an old underground cistern, however we never expected what we found when the back hoe started digging the 2nd footing. About 3 feet down, the back hoe hit a slab of concrete. It turned out to be a covering on an old abandoned 25 foot deep hand dug, rock lined well with about 5 feet of water at the bottom. After 4 truckloads of stone, Burke filled both the old cistern and the well and the footings were set.
The crew did a great job of building the deck, cleaning up, and repairing the soil and driveway where all the rock had to be dumped. As usual, we were very pleased with Burke Construction. The problem with the footing did add more on to the project, but we thought the added cost for all the effort was very reasonable.
Next job will hopefully start in a few weeks when Burke Construction will add a 12 x 14 addition on to one of our outbuildings.

He tore all wet / moldy insulation ,replaced all rotten beams, installed the humidifier and did the entire encapsulation. He came on a weekend to meet with to explain the processes in person.
