"I signed up to have a modular log home built on an existing foundation. The builder had a number of specifications that needed to be met to get the foundation ready for the new house. I contacted 8 other companies, but no one could help me with my long list of tasks. When I finally got ahold of Highlander Waterproofing, I started by telling them I was a problem child. I listed all the work that needed to be done and Mike told me that nothing on my list sounded sounded scary. I got a couple of visits from Mario, the manager, and Mike, the senior engineer, and one of their senior job bosses. They were all knowledgeable, helpful, positive, and suggested that I use steel supports instead of concrete to save space. Work started in August when Dewey and JT started knocking off the top 2 courses of block. "The Gents" - Dewey (the job boss) Devon, Jimmy, Matt, and Dave - did wonderful work. Because of Murphy's Law, we had to knock some walls down and rebuild them because of bowing, and we ended up adding an internal French Drain. They set rebar, poured tons of concrete, dug footers, put up steel support beams, installed glass block windows, put down sill plates, and rebuilt the front where the garage doors will be. I cannot even begin to say how pleased I am with the work they did. And they were a lot of fun to boot! They let me video them daily, tease them mercilessly, and they had the good grace to laugh when my dog made off with their breakfast jerky. There is still some work to do when the house actually gets here in April - insulating the outside wall, backfilling, putting the sump pumps in, rebuilding the center wall, and digging footers for the porch. I have absolute confidence in Highlander Waterproofing and "The Gents." I would recommend them highly and with no reservations to anyone who needs foundation work. I will add to this post with the final pictures in April."

"My wife and I just had Oakland give us a quote, plan and then install, pour, a 8.5 cubic yard patio after removing the trex deck that it was time to retire around our inground pool. After removal of the deck it was discovered that there was electrical work that needed to be rerun to our pool pump house and a Jacuzzi we were replacing. This they had no problem incorporating into the job without batting an eye. Communication was good. And from the plan, to scheduling, to actually accomplishing the task, considering the bad weather we were having, everything was done professionally, and on time in spite of whatever obstacles were thrown in the way. "I've been a bit remiss in submitting this review, but now that I am looking forward to having Burke Construction perform their 5th project for me, I figured I should write my review on their 4th project.
Burke built a small deck off of my dining room. The ground tends to be a bit pesky around this 175 year old farm house; you just never know what you will find when you start to dig. We knew that of the front 2 footings for this deck, one would be very close to an old underground cistern, however we never expected what we found when the back hoe started digging the 2nd footing. About 3 feet down, the back hoe hit a slab of concrete. It turned out to be a covering on an old abandoned 25 foot deep hand dug, rock lined well with about 5 feet of water at the bottom. After 4 truckloads of stone, Burke filled both the old cistern and the well and the footings were set.
The crew did a great job of building the deck, cleaning up, and repairing the soil and driveway where all the rock had to be dumped. As usual, we were very pleased with Burke Construction. The problem with the footing did add more on to the project, but we thought the added cost for all the effort was very reasonable.
Next job will hopefully start in a few weeks when Burke Construction will add a 12 x 14 addition on to one of our outbuildings.

He tore all wet / moldy insulation ,replaced all rotten beams, installed the humidifier and did the entire encapsulation. He came on a weekend to meet with to explain the processes in person.
