"PROJECT: it morphed from installing pavers in the pool area to a complete overhaul and design of the entire exterior - front walkway; front, sides and backyards; and driveway. A true transformation... The proof: our guests (who've visited us for the past 15 yrs.) came over and drove straight past our house! It is truly unrecognizable. We consider Michael DeZinna a landscape artist. Beyond his eye for design, he incorporates his knowledge and expertise of best practices, i.e., gutter placement, pitching, plant selections, etc. Michael makes design adjustments when necessary and keeps the communications channel with the client open and timely. His crew executes the work-at-hand with precision, attention to detail and speed. They are competitively priced, professional, polite, and courteous. AND they clean up well. We highly recommend Outdoor Design Landscape, Inc. to enhance and beautify your property. Our neighbors have thanked us for "upping their property value.""

"I hired Edge landscaping to help me reclaim my yard, which had been overgrown from my stone row coming into my yard. Colin and his team were efficient and came when they said they would. I’m very happy with the work that they did and it gave me back quite a bit of my yard again"

"Nothing. They are currently doing other landscaping projects, snow removal and home projects. Very professional. He worked around my schedule and recommended a painter who we hired too."

"He was on time for the estimate which was a good sign. He had a reasonable price for the grading. While he was here I asked about other landscaping work, which was also quite reasonable. He and his crew were polite and cleaned up afterwards."

"I highly recommend DryTech for basement foundation repair. Steve Lombardi was amazing! He walked me through the repairs I needed, educated me on the process and was able to schedule the repairs quickly. On the scheduled day for the repairs, the team (Carlos, Alex and Derek) arrived on time. They were very professional and worked quickly. They had to dig up my front and side yard to get to the repairs. After the job was completed (only took 1 day) you cannot tell they were there! They did such a great job on putting everything back in the correct place (including bushes, landscaping lights and mulch) it looks like nothing was done. I could not be happier that I selected DryTech for the job. Do yourself a favor do not waste time looking around- hire the best!"

"I couldn't be happier with the work! The landscaper came to my house on Tuesday, and I asked if there was any way the project could be completed before July 4th. I honestly thought it was a long shot, but he and his team made it happen—they had everything finished by Friday. They graded the entire area around my pool, delivered the rock the very next day, spread it evenly, and left everything looking beautiful. They worked efficiently, paid attention to the details, and cleaned up so well that there wasn't a single mess left behind. A special shoutout to Sean, who operated the bobcat. He did an excellent job and was clearly skilled at what he was doing. The entire crew came in, worked hard, and knocked the project out quickly without sacrificing quality. I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for reliable, professional landscaping. I'll definitely be hiring them again for future projects. Thank you for exceeding my expectations!"

Landscaping questions, answered by experts

Since you’ll likely be digging a trench to install your yard drainage system, this is a good time to complete other tasks that involve digging up your yard, including: Sprinkler system installation Lawn reseeding Regrading your yard Redesigning your landscaping If your drain is under a walkway or driveway, your contractor must also remove those materials. This is a great time to consider upgrading your hardscaping features, especially if they’re nearing the end of their life span.

If you use the wrong plants for your gardening zone, you’ll likely get less than desirable yields from them. In some cases, your plants can even die. It’s important to ensure that your plants are able to survive in your hardiness zone before getting them into the ground.

Yes, adding a pergola can add value to your home and provides an excellent selling point for potential buyers who enjoy outdoor living. Pergolas may have a 50% to 80% return on investment. To add more value, choose a structure made from durable, long-lasting materials and have it professionally installed. Extra features like a motorized roof, smart louvers, and heaters or misters may also give you a better return on investment.

There are two main times of year to apply mulch: mid to late spring and late fall. Spreading mulch in mid to late spring helps protect new seedlings as the soil warms up. It's best to wait until temperatures are steady, as mulching too early in the spring can slow down the soil's warming process and hinder plant growth. Fall mulching is also beneficial, as it insulates the soil and helps regulate its temperature when the first frosts arrive.

Common features in lakefront landscaping projects include native and water-tolerant plants, stone paths, docks or piers, seating areas, and erosion control solutions to create a harmonious integration with the waterfront setting.
