"I contacted JV's Handyman Services through Angie's List Website and about 15 days ago, he came and quoted me a price for the work. He asked for a deposit and I gave him $500 as initial payment, he promised to get the job done, he scheduled and came back on Sept. 11th, he said that he needs to get some more additional materials and asked for more money, I gave $200, then went out to home depot, said that he will be back in half an hour, but after getting my money, he never came back and never showed up at all. I made hundred calls and hundred messages but he is not returning my calls and when called with a different number, heard my voice and totally hanged up, never takes my calls, totally ignoring my calls, and he already took $700 from me but never shows up to do the work. I don't want him to come into my house again, and all I want now is to get my money back so I can hire another company to finish the job for me."

"Was told the service call would be $89 plus parts. Tech looked at Ice maker and called someone and told me to repair/replace ice maker it would cost $519. I said no, I would not pay over $600 to repair/replace ice maker on a refrigerator over 5 years old. When I started to pay the $89 service call I was quoted I was told it was $116. He came out on the day specified and got the fireplace working. This was summer and we didn't turn it on until late October. When we turned it on, it filled the house with a natural gas smell. I called John and he told me he was busy but would come out in a week or two. We set up an appointment and he never showed. I tried to call him and he sent a text saying he was in the hospital. I was unable to contact him by phone ever since. He just texted saying can't talk now! This job cost me Nearly $1,000 and I still don't have a working fireplace! I sent him an email asking for an explanation, as we can all have trouble, but he never responded."
