"Exact Solar and the Bortman’s installed solar panels for me on both a previous house and my current house. The panels turned my poolS from the cold poolS that no one wanted to go in, to the fun warm pools all summer with no marginal cost to heat. They did a free solar study from google earth to determine if my house and pool were good candidates for the panels, answered every question and installed them as advertised on time and on budget."

"My name is Ishmael Boaten. Leaves in Glendora NJ. My experience with Teresa Deluca was wonderful. She came to my House to explain everything about solar energy in details and my solar Panels was installed within some few days without any issues. She has been there from start to finish and still answers my call any time. I recommend her as a solar problem solving consultant to everyone."

"I needed to replace a damaged section of roof that had 13 solar panels on it. I tried every installer in CT to get the panels removed and even tried the parent company, Omnidian. They all wanted to install new panels for me, but no one wanted to remove and reinstall existing solar panels. NYSM was willing to do the job even though I was outside their normal service area. They took all the panels off and stored them at the house and then reinstalled them after the roof work was complete. My wife remarked several times how nice, polite and hard working the crew was, especially Tito! He worked by himself on a Saturday to get everything installed and working before a snowstorm hit. I can't say enough good things about this company. Excellent in every aspect! 10 stars!!!"

"Very well! Right from the start Isaiah was very professional. Since I was brand new to kayaking, Isaiah explained the different types of kayaks and the experience each one provides. He used these examples as well as asked me questions to figure out what type of kayaking experience I would like. Isaiah was extremely good at listening to my wants and needs pertaining to the kayaks. He provided very informative answers. Isaiah presents himself in such a way that allows him to gain the trust of the customer quickly. It was apparent from his thoughtfully structured answers that educating the customer is of great importance to him. There wasn’t a single time that I felt pushed to make a purchase. Isaiah remained very thorough during my next few visits while I decided which kayak was the best fit for me. I’ve kept in touch with Isaiah these last few years since purchasing the kayaks and he’s treated me in the exact same caring and professional manner every single time we meet. Isaiah is definitely one of the most genuine gentlemen I know. He has a wonderful ability to really connect with the customer. Isaiah will definitely be a great asset to your company."

Solar Panels questions, answered by experts

You shouldn’t hook up a solar panel directly to a battery. That can damage the solar battery and your appliances over time. Instead, install a charge controller between your solar panel and solar battery. Charge controllers regulate voltage, prevent overcharging, and minimize the amount of electrical current to protect your battery from voltage spikes.

There are a few great questions to ask a solar contractor or inspector when you speak to them. You’ll probably want to find out about the energy yield and efficiency of your array, ensuring the actual output matches the amount you calculated when installing the array in the first place. It’s also a good idea to find out about any damage or wear and tear on the array and to inquire about how soon you need to make repairs or replacements to essential components.

In most cases, solar panels are covered by homeowners insurance because they are considered a permanently attached part of the home, and you may not need additional coverage. However, it is essential to read the fine print of your specific policy to understand the extent of the coverage, as some policies might only cover certain types of damage, such as hail. Always check with your insurance provider before installing solar panels to ensure your policy provides adequate coverage for your investment.

Depending on the climate in your area, the best time to install solar panels is either winter or early spring. Summer is a fine time to install panels, too, but it tends to be the busy season, so prices may be higher and companies may have packed schedules. The installation process can take more time than expected between getting permits and finalizing a design, so start as soon as you can.

The time it takes to install solar panels depends on the number of panels and the size of your home, but installation takes between two and three days of work. While most contractors can install the panels over the course of a couple of days, switching to solar energy can take two to three months in total. This includes the time it takes to design the system, procure the parts, obtain the permits, install the panels, connect to the main power grid, and get an inspection.
