If the culprit is dirt, stains, or small cracks, your stucco will benefit from a deep clean, quick repair, and possibly a paint job. If you notice large cracks or peeling, it’s time to call a professional to fix your stucco. Stucco will dry in two to three days, but you should wait one to two months to allow it to cure fully before you paint it. The curing process is slow, but leaving the material exposed to air and natural moisture will help it reach its maximum strength. If you live in a hot, arid climate, wait a month before painting. Wait two months before painting if you live in a more moderate or wet climate.

Hardie board is another popular option for its high quality; Hardie board siding costs $17,500 on average, however. A standard drill will work just fine if you’re drilling small holes, and only a few of them.
