All gutters carry water away from your home, but only Leafguard does it with a unique, proprietary one-piece debris-shedding design that is better than any other gutter system on the market today. Leafguard gutters work on a simple but powerful scientific principle known as liquid adhesion. This allows rainwater to travel around the hood and into the gutter, while deflecting leaves and other debris to never clog.

"Extremely well. About three weeks after the installation, a gentleman from LeafFilter knocked on our door to ask our permission to inspect the work that was done. It was impressive that the company sent someone to make sure the work was done to our satisfaction and done correctly. We previously had gutter protection from a competitor, and it not only did not work, but we had to fight with the company to get them to come out and clean the gutters each time the gutters would clog,"

"Over 13 years ago J & V Roofing replaced our roof. After a tree fell on our house on 9/10/19, we needed a new roof. We did not hesitate to call J & V Roofing. Everything that this company does is done in excellence! John Valentino, the owner, is our go to person for any home remodeling or roofing that we need done. Yes, we would definitely recommend him & hire this company again!!"

"Some background about the problem: we had water coming into the house inside of a wall during heavy storms and melting snow. The leak was on the side of the house overlooking our down-sloping backyard so you can't actually see that side of the slate roof from the ground.
I had two other roofing companies come by, they looked at the house from the yard, said they would put in a new gutter and drip edge and gave us quotes (between $800 and $1200.) After reading good reviews about Western PA Slate I gave them a call. They were in the area the very next day and Mike stopped by to assess the situation. He was the first roofer to actually get up on the roof to get a look at potential problems and upon reaching the ridge he asked, "Do you want me to fix this right now?" I couldn't believe it. There were a couple broken slates, and one in particular had slid down revealing a 4 inch gap between the slates below. In about 20 minutes Mike had repaired the broken slates, a service for which he charges a flat fee of $250 (for five slates I believe.) He took pictures of the roof before the repair so I could see the damage and pointed out a couple other spots where we might have issues down the line. A couple days later after a pretty bad storm he even sent me a message, following up to check and see if the leak was still there. Four heavy storms later and we are leak-free.

Gutter Repair and Replacement questions, answered by experts

It is possible to repair your own gutters, but we don’t recommend it. First, gutters need to sit at a precise slope to direct water toward the downspouts but also appear level from the yard, and this task is challenging to get right through DIY gutter repair. Second, any mistakes you make could be costly if they cause water damage or foundation damage. It might seem unnecessary to spend $400 on professional gutter repair, but it pales in comparison to what you might pay if you make a mistake doing the work yourself.

Yes, professionals can repair or replace sections with seamless copper for better durability.

Once you’ve installed your gutters, you'll need to maintain them. You should clean your gutters once or twice a year to keep them functioning correctly. But if climbing a ladder and scooping out handfuls of wet leaf gunk is just not your thing, you can hire a professional gutter cleaner near you to do the job.

When it comes to which gutter material is better, the choice really boils down to what you're looking for in a gutter system. If saving money is the most important factor, then your best option is to go for aluminum gutters. If longevity and durability are more important to you, then copper gutters could be the best fit. If you want to customize the color of your gutters, aluminum takes the cake, but if you're looking for a more natural appearance, copper might be a better choice.

How long hangers last will depend on what gutter material they’re made from, but generally you can expect to get at least 10 to 15 years from them no matter what they’re made from. But don’t wait for them to break to give them a checkup. Inspect this part of your gutters on a yearly basis, and make repairs at the first sight of damage.
