LeafFilter Gutter Protection

Requested a quote to clean gutters. Leaf Filter scheduled an appointment. I made my self available only to be told that they do not do strictly gutter cleaning nd attempted to upsell me to a gutter filter or premium service. I declined.

They did a very good job. I have had them for over a year now and I would definitely hire them again. They are very responsive and they stand behind their work. They even gave me a year to pay for it without interest and I would recommend them as well.

Due to health reasons, I decided to cancel the service and so I called Leaf Filter, since I already gave them a $1500 check deposit, and I know that I would be needing the money for my surgery. When the doctors office called me on 08/27/2020, I called Leaf Filter to cancel the service and followed up that night and was able to to speak to Britney on the phone and she verified that the service has been cancelled, but I got my bank statement recently and saw that the check was cashed out on 09/01/2020, which I was expecting for them to return since I have cancelled the service within the timeframe specified on the contract. I wasn't expecting them to do such a thing and I am very frustrated that they went and cashed in the check even after I have already cancelled the service. They were deceitful of their clients. I just need my money back for my surgery, far more important than putting in a leaf gutter guard on my gutters.

I had agreed to the pricing and we had a contract. They scheduled the installation without checking with me what date will work for me. I did not complain about it as I did not have a conflict on that day. Salesperson, made a mistake in the contract drafting and the price was more than what we agreed on. I gave him a verbal agreement as I did want to create trouble. No one called me on the day before install to confirm time or provide me detail. It turned out the renewed contract was never submitted. Noone informed me that the installation needed to be rescheduled. In the afternoon I find out from the head of operations when called to complain that the install had to be rescheduled. He did not even bother to apologize for it. All these made me really concerned about their future customer service. I will have to rely on that for the lifetime warranty they provide. They offer a lower price than their competition, but the customer service is the one that counts in long run!!

Filled out a form online and got a call within minutes. Sales rep Steve gave a stellar presentation and promised next day install (between 2 and 4PM). Waited until 4:30, called, was told crew was still out. Left a note on the door saying I would have to reschedule (how could this job be done in the dark?). Steve left me a voice message saying it was done. Next morning I was ready to get my ladder and have a look when the phone rang (it was the installer saying he would be out in 2 hours). Aton did a great job with the install, even posing for a photo and taking my camera up the ladder to get a pix of the finished work. If this company had their act together, they wouldn't get just a "C". The product sells itself.

The salesman told me that Leaf Filter comes in 5 ft pieces & that there would be 5 to 6 support brackets for each panel. When installing they only put 3 per panel. When I voiced a concern about it they said they r only required to put one every 18 inches. Three on a 5 ft piece is not every 18 inches. According to the salesman & the Leaf Filter brochure the installers use a ladder stabilizer to protect your roof & gutters. According to the local installation manager they use many types of ladders but I will get into that later. On the back side of my house the installer pieced together very small sections of the gutter guards. It's as though he was trying to use up scrap that was left. The installer left many of my gutter spikes hanging out. I complained on both the day of installation & the day after about these issues. I was so frustrated I just wanted the guards off. Louise, the local installation manager said he would gladly remove them but I had to give them a chance to make it right first. I agreed and they came out 5 days after the initial installation. The guy came with a ladder without stabilizers. So I called the manager and he said they can use many different ladders & if they damage the gutter they will fix it. The installer had no tools & proceeded to pull my gutter spikes out by pounding on them with his hand & trying to pry them out. He didn't bring any Leaf Filter to replace the small pieces on the back of the house. I was worried about damage & it was clear he wasn't prepared so I told the manager I wanted him to stop. The installer then left & never put my spikes back in. Now I run the risk of getting bees building nests in my gutter. I again complained to the manager & he must have told the installer to go back. So the installer came back to my house without permission & again used the ladder that was damaging my gutter. I told the manager I want the Leaf Filter system removed & my gutters repaired and he then said I can't do that, I don't have the authority. So I asked him to let me speak to someone higher up & he said he couldn't let me talk to anyone else. I'm beyond mad at this point. I called the main number to voice my concerns & get address information so I could file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. The girl gave me the information & said she was putting a high priority on having a regional manager call me back. Big surprise, I got no call. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I hope my issues get resolved now.

install went ok but have never worked. I was told I don't have enough "wind". they leak worse than a clogged gutter ever would and are flooding water on my foundation and wooden gate which now has damage. If these have to be cleaned every few months what on Earth did I pay 3k for?

I was disappointed on installation day because everything that was promised was not relayed to the installer. It was put in my contract that they would extend my gutter spouts but when the installer came, they did not about this and they had to go to the store for materials. There was also only one installer and it wasn’t a small job. Also, I was told that workers were employed and not contractors and this was a lie. I was also told that the policy was that the workers do not climb on the roof and yet, the installer was walking on my roof. And just like every other company, they jacked up the price and said that if I installed immediately, they would bring down the price. I found out after the job that I severely overpaid even with all the discounts they gave me. Just another sales company looking to make their quota. Overall, the product looks like it will work well but I still have to wait for our first fall/rain.

The install was as described. Our problem is in the form of roof water run off after a snow. Because the snow sits on top once it begins to melt the top layer runs off the roof and onto the ground along the foundation which is what leaf filter is supposed to prevent. We also have more icicles forming along the entire perimeter of the roof because the water can't run into the gutter. We're hoping that they perform as advertised once we get into the rainy seasons but as of now we are disappointed that we get more water dripping along the foundation than we ever did before the installation.

Extremely well. About three weeks after the installation, a gentleman from LeafFilter knocked on our door to ask our permission to inspect the work that was done. It was impressive that the company sent someone to make sure the work was done to our satisfaction and done correctly. We previously had gutter protection from a competitor, and it not only did not work, but we had to fight with the company to get them to come out and clean the gutters each time the gutters would clog,

The contractor completed all gutters in one day in the rain and til dusk without a break.. He really worked hard for his pay. Very polite. I supplied him with hot coffee. Got several inches of snow followed by a hard freeze in January. When it got above freezing water poured over the gutters and froze at night creating an ice problem at the front door. Will see how the gutters work in a hard rain in summer.

The work took a few days to complete but was performed to my satisfaction. The technician would have had it done in one day but did not have a ladder high enough for one gutter. On a walk around I did notice my air condition cover was missing. Not sure if it was removed and forgot to be put back on or if it got stolen by someone else. It would have been in my yard if it had blown off by the wind. Overall I really like the professional presentation and was sold on the product immediately.

The installer showed up, cleaned out the gutters, installed the product and left. It took about a half day.

Did not deliver as promised. During the lengthy sales process, we explained to the Sales Rep that we have had problems with contractors previously not completing what was contracted. I requested that the installer take pictures of the installed filters, especially on the highest gutters, to ensure a quality installation. The Sales Rep said it would not be a problem, and that he would even bring a ladder back and do it himself. I suggested just having the installer take photos while he was up there, but the Sales Rep insisted he would do it and even wrote it into the contract. A week went by after the installation and there were no photos and no followup to see if we were satisfied with the installation costing thousands of dollars. In addition, the installer worked in the dark for 2 hours past sunset (not sure why it couldn't have been done the next day - there was no urgent need) -- so this makes me even more concerned about what was installed. After a week went by with no word, I contacted the Sales Rep, who came out the next day to take pictures. The pictures were taken from the ground level. Any five year old could have taken those photos. The photos do not show the installation and no filters can be seen in any photos (the outer flange can be seen but this provides no information regarding quality of the install, gaps, issues, etc). After specifically discussing the need for the photos for several minutes and including it in the contract, it is beyond belief that pictures were taken from ground level from beneath the gutters, showing nothing of the actual filters. Buyer beware.

The installation went great, the work was excellent. Very good Company. Very professional, They are always responsive for any issues that has something to do with the gutters.

Initially the product was fine, even though the installation was poor. He didn't have the correct bends for my job so he used what he had and had the downspouts on the front of my house sitting in 2 feet from the edge of the house. I looked bizarre. After calling, they sent someone out and had it rectified. The problem I have now, the real issue, is that my gutters are clogged from on top, nothing is getting below the filter, so the warranty doesn't count, but not even water can pass through the filter. They have said it must be because of too much tree coverage etc and that is why a mold or other film has built up, but my house isn't surrounded by trees. And I've been up to scrub the screen and it does make a difference, but with a supposed lifetime warranty, I wasn't expecting to have to scrub my 160 feet of filter to keep my gutters open. I would have been easier to have gutters placed without the screen and just pressure wash out the debri once a year. I would definitely never recommend this product especially considering the company won't send out a representative to check the problem without charging me a call out fee. Again, lifetime warranty, really? UPDATE: The workmanship was okay. No new sealant was placed, areas that were warped were left warped but at least the rain goes into my gutters now. I was glad that they at least responded to a BBB complaint. I would rate them D at this pooint. The as the gutters work well but the followup was still not great.

Sales professional was great! Installers did a great job as well! I live in a wooded area, so cleaning gutters is a must 2X a year. The roof is high and angled making self cleaning hazardous. I felt the investment was well worth it for peace of mind 120 total sq ft gutter filter added

We had a great experience with LeafFilter, from the representative who called us after we requested more info from their website ( received a call within 15 minutes - and very friendly) to the installer who did all the work. The sales representative who came to the house could not have been nicer as well as informative. I had a lot of questions and concerns about our layout and he answered them all - there was no question that I wanted LeafFilter to do this job. The cost was a little more than I was hoping for but since it looks like I'll never have to worry about clogged gutters again, they have a great design to their guards - I think it will be well worth the cost - might even be a saving in the long run with not ever having to worry about it again. And we took advantage of a little discount if we had the work done according to their schedule - which we were very agreeable to. We got a call on the day they said they would do the work and said instead of coming out in the morning they would do the job in the afternoon, which we agreed to. When I got a message that the installer would get there between 1:30 and 2 pm I was concerned that might be a little late to get started on what seemed to be a big job to me. When I called with my concerns (even though for the discount I agreed to have the work done when they wanted to schedule it) Chris Coulter couldn't have been more obliging and agreeable to have the installer come out the next morning. (they didn't have to do that) And the installer came when promised and he was outstanding - he knocked on the door to let us know he was there to do the work - He got started and never stopped until the job was complete. He took the old gutter guards off and cleaned gutters around the entire house and installed their - over 5 hours of work without stopping. He did a great job. I could not be more pleased about having LeafFilter do our gutters. I hate to make this sound like an advertisement for them but our experience with them was great from start to finish.

On March 9th I had a representative from Leaffilter come to my house to give me an estimate for their system to be installed on my existing gutters. Everything was very professional and I was impressed. A few days after the initial estimate I received a call from Chris Coulter (Northeast Manager) giving me a "March Madness" deep discount if I would get the work done. I accepted his new quote and filled out the paperwork to get the credit at Wells Fargo to pay for the service. Chris processed my application and I received the credit within 3 days of the application in the mail. I also was so impressed by all the service that I had my neighbor ready to get a quote and get his gutters done as well. A week went by and I called Chris to find out when he was going to do the job. He told a lie that he had a crew come by my house to remeasure everything. My wife was home all day on the day he said he came by, no one came by to remeasure the gutters. There was a big discrepancy and that the job would be several hundred dollars more than his initial quote. I called the guy who came out to my house to give me the original quote and he told me that Chris said he transposed numbers when he was figuring my "March Madness" new quote and had to blame someone for his error. I have waited for the company to call me back to explain what was going on and nothing has happened. This is a game that they are playing to get me to pay more. Also my neighbor never got a call for a quote for his house. I do not understand how a company can stay in business with practices like this.

From beginning to end, the entire job was terrible. The company is unprofessional, dishonest, rude, and untrustworthy. After installation we had broken shingles, pieces our old gutter cover system shoved into the ends of the gutters, displaced downspout, screws sticking out of backside of our gutter, and mud from one end of house to the other including siding and windows. The installer was rude, and every employee and higher manager (other than the salesperson) were bullies, unhelpful, and abrasive. All they were interested in was getting their $6,500. The installation repairs went just as poorly as the initial installation did. They tried to fix the broken shingles by gluing a non-matching thinner shingle over top the broken ones (see photo). Luckily we were here to stop him after the second attempt at fixing. The installer drove in our yard, made ruts, and drove his muddy truck in our driveway. When asked to fix the ruts, he installer laughed. The next day after a heavy rain, our yard flooded (see photos). The managers tried to insist that they bring in their own roofers to fix the shingles, even after the poor installation job, and poor repair job. Finally after multiple discussions, they approved us using our own roofer to fix our broken shingles. It has been almost four weeks since the initial installation, and we are still battling with the company over the amount of money owed for the poor, unprofessional, shoddy work that was done. None of what was initially promised in the TWO HOUR sales pitch was actually done. There were no end caps installed on the gutter ends, even though all marketing materials and sales pitch includes that information, we were told that the installer would not need to be on our roof but he was definitely on our roof, and we were told that they always clean up after the job is complete, but that was not even close to being the truth. The integrity of this company is questionable. Their aggressive and unprofessional communication skills are extremely upsetting, and their lack of empathy and their total disregard for their mistakes is beyond concerning. Though the installation issues have finally been addressed and corrected, the amount of time, fighting, drama, and unnecessary stress made this experience the worst we have ever had with any company doing work at our home. There has not been one positive aspect in this entire experience, and we will never recommend this company to anyone. No gutter cover in the world is worth all of the aggravation we have gone through.
