"From the first phone call to the end of the construction project they were professional and kind. Matthew not only knew how to help with what we wanted but was quick to have an estimate and began when we needed them. They're estimate was resonable and very appropriate for the job. When they found out our old shower fan wasn't even hooked up to the outside, they fixed that with no problem. Would we have them do more construction work for us, absolutely. Thank you MNB Renovations."

"Desmond was mannerly, honest, professional and is very trustworthy, I would  pass his name along to anyone needing work done in their homes or business.  He works neat and quickly, cleans his messes up and had great concern about my home and furnishings. Desmond brought another carpenter to assist in the project a few days. Desmond has left me with a great experience and venture. I Love my house, thanks Desmond."

"Project went very smoothly. Dan was receptive to changes that we wanted to make midstream, and it was clear that he wanted us to be happy with the final product. Dan is a no nonsense contractor (which we love) and works hard to complete his jobs with quality, timeliness, and decent communication. We'll definitely be calling Reichardt Remodeling for our next project."

"Fantastic. He took care of every problem that we knew about and those that became apparent during the work. He is easy to work with, fair and very reliable. He has extensive experience and technical know how which reflects in his quality and efficiency. If I had to use multiple contractors the job would have cost me 2-3 times as much if not more. The house was in poor shape before the work but sold immediately after listing in large part to the Stephen's conscientious efforts. I will use him for all my remodeling work in the future, large and small."

Unfinished Carpentry questions, answered by experts

New builds, remodels, and additions often necessitate professional framing expertise.

When building a house, it is customary to use 16d nails that measure 3 1/2 inches in length to construct the frame. These nails are crucial in providing the necessary support and stability for structural elements like joists and studs, which ensures a sturdy framework.

Converting a carport into a garage can vary in difficulty depending on its configuration, the condition of the foundation or slab, and its location relative to the house. The process has a lot in common with a home addition, but you can often skip non-essential finishes like fine flooring, trim work, or even drywall and HVAC. The conversion requires experience with drywall, insulation, and other building materials to ensure it’s done safely and correctly. While it might be possible for a DIYer with the proper tools and skills to do the work, it is a complicated and potentially dangerous job. If you’re new to basic construction, it's best to leave this project to the professionals.

When choosing a drywall anchor, consider the weight of the object you're hanging and how much weight the anchor will need to support. The heavier the weight, the stronger the anchor you'll need. You’ll find the weight capacity on the packaging when shopping for anchors.

Also, remember that you can use more than one anchor when hanging something on the wall. If you're using multiple anchors, divide the object weight by the number of anchors to determine how much each will need to support. If you need help deciding which drywall anchor to use, you can hire a handyperson to hang your objects.

To calculate the number of linear feet of baseboard you’ll need, measure the length of each wall of the room you’re installing them in as close to the floor as possible, rounding up to the next full linear foot. If it’s your first DIY molding job, having a few extra feet on hand for miscuts is a good idea.
