"service was great and so was the price. contractor who did the work was very pleasant and professional. the only thing is he accidently cut down my baby lilac bush. it was just in the twig stage with about 20 leaves on it so it might have looked like a weed. otherwise, this contractor was fast and clean. would love to have him back. :)"

"We are going to go with him. He is a very nice gentleman, he is very thorough. He answered all of my questions and got back to me. I just called him yesterday and he got back to me today and I have to get back to him to set up a date for the service. I decided to use him due to Angie's List, he had all good marks on the list. I called somebody else on the list prior to that and he never called me back.
He is prompt, courteous, and so far I really like him. He came immediately, he returned my call immediately, and he left me a written quote before he left."

"Their service was wonderful. They did a very nice job. I had asked for specific work to be done, they checked it out, and called me with the estimate. The lawn mower works like a charm. The only negative is that I was not able to take in my lawn mower and snow blower at the same time. They were very easy deal with."

Weed Services questions, answered by experts

Yes, Johnsongrass is a hard weed to kill. It has the ability to grow fast and spread even quicker, so it requires a detailed plan and thorough application to eliminate it. The best plan of action is to kill Johnsongrass while the weed is establishing itself by hiring a lawn care professional or following the steps above.

Yes, vinegar can be an effective way to kill individual dandelion plants to help in the hand-removal process. However, vinegar can also kill turfgrass, so use a targeted spray.

The best way to prevent weeds is to use polymeric sand, which hardens and blocks weed growth when activated with water. If you're using regular sand, you'll need to refill and compact it more often. Keeping the surface clean and free of debris can also help prevent weed seeds from settling in the joints.

Pulling weeds once per month is typically often enough to keep most weeds at bay. But in general, it's best to pull weeds as soon as you spot them to prevent deep root growth and slow their spread. To make it easier, plan your weed pulling after rain or after the sprinklers run so the soil will be nice and wet and the weeds will be easier to pull. If you notice moss accompanying weeds, make a plan to remove the moss immediately to prevent damage.

Several tools exist that can help remove unwanted grass. The one you choose depends greatly on how much you need to remove and how hard you'd like to work. A sod or turf cutter is the fastest method while using a shovel is labor-intensive and much slower. You may also need a garden rake, tiller, and wheelbarrow.
