I am a small contractor from pittsburgh. I have been doing residential remodeling for about twelve years and landscaping for seventeen. I have also worked as a real estate agent for six years with northwood. I have seen alot of homes inside and out. I use a licensed Master electrician who i have had a 12 year relationship with and a master plumber with over 30 years experience. The Carpenters we use are " Carpenters" not guys off the street. Brothers, brothers in law, friends, sons and grandsons of hard working irish / italion immigrants. Accountable trusted people. I was raised old fashion and believe piece of mind and integrity are worth more than money. The level of respect for your home and belongings that is hard to come by these days is a belief and way of life for us. Give us a try and i think our work will speak for itself. We don't sell any product so there is no scam. Just an honest days pay for honest days work.

LICENSED CITY OF PITTSBURGH HVAC CONTRACTOR HV00908 D.O.T. CERTIFIED GAS LINE INSTALLER Owner-Operated Plumbing & HVAC. Contractor Licensed Master Plumber H.P.

"I hired Steve on a fixed price of $750 to file my County permit and facilitate the inspections. In addition, he would provide on site consulting services for $100/hour. I performed the plumbing installation myself. He came out on 2 occasions for consultations so I paid him a total of $950. It took him over a week to schedule the rough in inspection. I failed the rough in due to non-compliant fittings on my toilet lines that he specifically directed me to use during one of the consultations. When I fixed the fittings and tried to schedule the follow up inspection, he went AWOL. Steve refused to answer calls or text messages. At one point I phoned him from a different line and he answered, said he was busy and hung up on me. After nearly two weeks of this, I asked him what I needed to do get this done. He responded: $500 cash, or get someone else. After contacting 5 other plumbers, I had no choice but to pay Steve and get the inspection done. The County Plumbing office was of no help in resolving this issue. I paid him a total of $1,450 for no more than 6 hours of work. When I confronted him about our agreement, he said "what agreement?"."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

A 10,000-watt generator can run a small to mid-sized central AC unit (typically up to 3 tons or 36,000 BTU) along with a few other appliances. However, larger AC units or additional loads will require a bigger generator. Consult a local generator installer to ensure you add the correct size generator to your home.

No, it's not safe to keep using your unit when it's frozen. Not only can running a frozen unit lead to damage, but it can also potentially overheat, making it a fire hazard. Therefore, it's always best to turn off the AC unit as soon as you notice any ice.

While most air conditioners can last between 10 and 20 years, they will only last this long (or longer) if properly taken care of. Routine maintenance and inspections help keep your AC unit running in tip-top shape but understanding what factors will decrease its lifespan will also help keep your unit running cool.

Some things that shorten your AC’s lifespan include:

  • Extreme outdoor conditions, like high humidity or extensive salt spray

  • Improper installation

  • Extended run times, either by the unit being too small or the thermostat setting too low

  • Not performing required maintenance

Yes, there are ventless portable air conditioners that don’t have exhaust hoses and don’t require venting. Instead, they have a water reservoir and cooling pad, which add moisture to the air to make it feel colder. Ventless portable AC units work best in dry climates since humid areas already have a lot of moisture in the air and can’t absorb much more.

The difference between a home surge protector and an HVAC surge protector is that an HVAC surge protector is designed to protect the components inside your HVAC unit while a home surge protector is installed near appliances and meant to protect your entire home. There are three tiers of whole-house surge protectors, and they are more expensive to install than HVAC surge protectors.
