"I started this job because I had used Molyneaux before with terrific results. Malik Vincent was my Molyneaux consultant this time. He was a great help and I felt he exceeded my expectations. He helped me understand my choices and look pass the inability of Vangura’s (counter) customer service. Unfortunately, Molyneaux’s customer service is not mirrored in their partner Vangura (Kitchen refresh) The floor installation and later a small adjustment was taken care of and my floors look fantastic. Molyneaux gives you quality products, expect to pay a little more but it is worth it for the service and installation. As far as the counter, the Vangura initial measuring/consultation made me uncomfortable and the cost seemed steep. Product is beautiful but there was some miscommunication of the size of the backsplash which caused a lot of problems both financially and time for me later after installation. I even had to contact Vangura about a question by phone after installation and was dismissed. The installers were fantastic, worked very hard to fit my counter and it has made a huge difference. Vangura “might” have the best counters ever, but the costumer service needs to reflect the product. Review for Molyneaux = A. Vangura = D"

I really appreciate their thinking of everything and executing every aspect of their plan with exceptional workmanship. "We picked a piece of Quartz (Category Z) from Mont for installation over all of our kitchen countertops. As a wholesale distributer, Mont does not sell the stone directly to customers, but requires a fabricator. We contacted 5 fabricators in Pittsburgh, and long story short, Lexmar was by far the best. I’ll give a brief account of why we liked them so much, followed by a longer account of what happened with the other 4. Hopefully our experience will be useful to others. I don’t have enough good things to say about Lexmar, but to highlight a few: 1) very fair prices, 2) extremely nice personnel, 3) super high quality work, and 4) on schedule from start to finish (so rare in the renovation business!). Our stone was a category Z from Mont with a very heterogeneous pattern that needed to be cut into many pieces with lots of cutouts. First, Cheryl, the contact person, is truly one of the nicest and most informative people I have encountered in the renovation business. She explained the entire process to me (and it unfolded exactly as she said it would), and answered all my questions without being patronizing or impatient. Second, the guy who measured the kitchen (before the demolition of the old tiles and countertops) must have done a great job, because when the pieces arrived, they were not a millimeter off. Third, when I visited their warehouse, the stone cutter patiently worked with me for an hour to match this unusually difficult-to-work with piece of stone into the right arrangement of pieces to make the seems look continuous. He really amazed me with his artistic eye for detail and how he traced the complex pattern from one end to the next. Finally, the installation went super smoothly. They showed up on time, worked diligently to make sure the necessary structural support was there and added pieces if in doubt. They did the plumbing as well, installed the cooktop, and tested everything. The result was the most gorgeous countertops ever! (will post pics when the renovation is complete!). Could not have asked for a better experience, and could not have been happier about supporting a local business with people who truly deserve the support. For the record, here’s our experience with the other 4 fabricators that we did not hire: 1- Armina stone: The most expensive quote, i.e., exactly twice as expensive as Lexmar. No itemized pricing was provided. 2- Magnotti and Son: the second most expensive quote. I have been their customer for stone and hearthstone for two fireplaces. They provide good quality cuts, but are sometimes unnecessarily expensive. For example, they charged me 50% more for a box of limestone from Eldorado compared to another distributor. 3- Quality Granite Outlet: Same price at Magnotti and Son, but itemized and detailed. Fast response and an offer to price match. We did not follow up with them because the price was still 60% higher than the least expensive quote we had, so we figured price matching was probably not going to work out. 4- Ultimate Granite: Second least expensive option after Lexmar. I had them recommended by our tile guy, so I was interested in working with them, and their low price and good reviews were appealing. I’m afraid our experience with them left much to be desired. In contrast to Lexmar, they could not be less unfriendly. Speaking with them on the phone felt like a grand imposition. Even though the price was only slightly higher than Lexmar, when I asked them whether they were interested in matching it, they dismissed it right off the bat with no attempts to retain us. When I asked for specific prices of like backsplash, they never got back to me. So, they were naturally out."

"This is our second project with Jim. Like the first project, Jim did a terrific job! Kitchen looks like new at 1/3 the cost of a new kitchen! Old drawers did not have glides. Jim added smooth, self-closing drawers and doors. Great Improvement!!!"

We were impressed with their eye for detail, the professional business manner, their treatment of their employees, and the overall outstanding end product. "If I could give them zero or negative stars that would be more to the quality of the work they did for me. I contracted them to install 13 windows in a brand new patio door on my mobile home. Dan and his partner were the installers and initially I thought it was just some lack of attention to detail and poor quality in their workmanship but it turned out it was completely just negligent ********! Almost every window leaked cold air when it came time in the winter and after they had finished installing everything towards the end of November beginning of December. Missing caulk lines and having the use my own insulation and drywall because of the negligent job they did. They had to come in and recaulk around almost every window and or put insulation in but I ended up doing most of that myself. The worst was the opening they left on each corner of my patio door and a few other windows and with all the rain and snow I ended up with black mold and fungus growing inside at the base of the door"

"If you are considering a kitchen/bathroom remodel please read this review. Our kitchen renovation project was started on May 7th. We are now on the cusp of entering the 5th month for this project and our kitchen is still not completed. To make matters worse I haven’t seen ANYONE from Brookside for a MONTH! We had sent an email to the construction manager and never received a response. The sad thing is that this was an ongoing experience during our remodel. They would work for a couple of days and then I wouldn’t see nor hear from anyone for a week +. (This happened way more then we would have expected). The only way I got them to show up was to continually call. I would have to call repeatedly to get my microwave hooked up. I would have to repeat the process to make sure someone was going to hookup our stove, plumbing, etc. I’ve paid 60K so far and I had to be a pseudo project manager! I now have my existing hardware floor cracking because we have been waiting for Brookside to finish the floor with a transition piece. I still have live wires exposed and holes still left in the wall. FOUR months and I still do not have all of my appliances hooked up in my kitchen. Cabinets that came in damaged still have not been replaced. It pains me to write this review but I honestly don’t know what to do at this point. This project has totally been mismanaged and communication has been nonexistent! I will say that the workers who have performed the work have been good to work with. The cabinets that we ordered we are happy with and Classic Rock, who performed the fabrication for the granite did an AWESOME job! (We did not have a conventional layout). If Brookside would have completed this project in a reasonable time frame (I was originally told they would be finished around the 4th of July) then I would have had a much more positive experience."

"This review is for an Onyx shower only. They don?t read instructions and install everything how they see fit, from the walls, shelves and drain. Reluctant to fix anything, because it will be a complete redo. Instead, insist it is installed correctly, when it is not. Definitely will be issues down the road. If they do a shower for you, inspect their work carefully before your final payment. "
