"Brian had done drywall work in my garage a year earlier. I needed more work after I had some piping replaced. Mesh patches that are not self-adhesive will require you to put mud down first and then press the mesh into it, followed by additional coats of mud.

To hide drywall edges, you need to properly apply drywall tape and multiple layers of joint compound.
