"We love our cabinets! They look fantastic while remaining affordable. The friendly staff at AWD helped us from start to finish. They are very knowledgeable and gave us advice and tips when needed. They were receptive and patient with our ever-changing needs. Once we finalized our purchase, we received our cabinets within two weeks! The cabinets are very sturdy and the color is beautiful. The hinges and hardware are high quality. We are extremely pleased with AWD and would recommend them to any friends or family looking for good cabinets at a fair price."

"Rishi and his team redid my kitchen and floors in my apartment. I am very pleased with their work and am just about to have them start on my bathroom as well. I couldn't be more happy. It has been so difficult for me to find good, honest workers, who pay attention to detail, help to cut costs rather than add them and are a joy to be around. I have lived in my co-op for over 15 years and for the first time feel like I have a contractor who I can easily go to and trust that job will get done as I had intended it to. Rishi even repaired little extra things around my apartment that were bothering me-- at a fraction of what I would have paid to have someone come in to fix. Rishi's team worked on demo for the kitchen, emptying everything out, so the cabinet maker could come in and do his part. I was impressed at the care he took with all my personal items and how clean they left everything at the end of their work days. When the cabinetmaker finished his part of the renovation, Rishi's team came back and did all the trim, counters, walls, and installed beautiful hardwood flooring in the kitchen and into the halls of my 1200 sq foot apartment. The best part about the work they did was the excellent quality and ease. The next best was that they finished their work on time and within budget. I cannot recommend these guys enough!"

Closets questions, answered by experts

You can budget a little less money for how to build a closet with wire shelves than with wood shelves. Some people don’t like the aesthetics that wire shelves provide, though, meaning they’ll gladly spend a little more to add wood shelves to the build. If you decide to buy pre-made wire shelves instead of building custom-sized wood shelves, you’ll be restricted in the closet shelving dimensions you can use.

Hanging and folding clothes are efficient ways to pack your clothes during a move. When choosing a packing method, consider the type of clothing you’re packing. For example, clothing such as dresses, suits, blouses, and items made of silk and similar fabrics are ideal for hangers. On the other hand, it’s easier to fold pants, shorts, t-shirts, thick sweaters, and more.

Building custom cabinets or built-in furniture yourself is possible, especially for basic designs, if you have woodworking experience. For a professional result, hiring a service is recommended to ensure precision, high-quality craftsmanship, and superior finishes.

There are certainly luxury upgrades you can make but you can seriously improve the look and functionality of a closet without spending much money. Color matching will make the closet seem bigger so any shelves painted the same as the wall is a good tip. While pre-made closet organizers may seem expensive they offer an aesthetic look that's hard to achieve with DIY methods. Lastly, removing clutter and unworn items will help the closet seem bigger and cleaner.

A "reach-in pantry" is a smaller, cabinet-style pantry that allows you to grab items by simply reaching inside. On the other hand, a "walk-in pantry" is like a closet or small room that offers a larger space that you can physically enter to get your food. Walk-in pantries allow for more customizable shelving. A reach-in pantry is usually around 5 feet wide by 2 feet deep, while a walk-in pantry is closer to 5 feet by 5 feet or larger.
