"Jerod and Mike completed the renovation/expansion of our new master bathroom. My wife and I are extremely thrilled with the result. The installation team kept us informed of the progress of the project and put in extra effort to make sure the project was completed to the highest standard within the established time frame. We will definitely be requesting bids from Calco for future planned home renovations."

"We needed a turnkey solution two 35+ year old bathroom exhaust fans that were dying. Anjali in the main office understood and coordinated with Brad to make it happen. Brad is an excellent communicator who did beautiful work selecting and installing a replacement exhaust / heat fan and switch panel in the master bath. He saved us the expense of the powder room exhaust fan replacement by making a repair instead. Brad Brown Electrics is our new go-to business for future electrical work!"

"This is the second time that I have used Brandon Electric. Although they are not the cheapest, their work is first rate. For this project, Jamal and Rob installed recessed ceiling lights (living room and first floor stairwell), upgraded/replaced numerous outlets and switches, and installed a bathroom fan and lighting fixture. Their work was excellent. They took care in making as few holes as possible, cleaned/vacuumed as they went and were punctual. I'll certainly use Brandon Electric for my next electrical job."

Bathroom Fan Installation questions, answered by experts

Fan power is measured by CFM, or cubic feet per minute. For every 1,000 feet of square footage in your attic, you need a minimum of 700 CFM. Steeper roofs may need larger fans or about 840 CFM.  You can figure the size of attic fan you need by multiplying the square footage of your attic floor by 0.7. (multiply by 1.2 for a steep roof and 1.15 for a dark roof). That number is the CFM required for your fan to run efficiently.

Yes, ceiling fans come with a few other features that help with function, style, and convenience. Multi-speed fans can give you specialized control over the airflow. Consider getting one with an integrated light to save ceiling space. Some ceiling fans come with a remote control that enables you to change direction without climbing a ladder. Of course, you can also consider installing a wall switch to enjoy that convenience.

Once you remove all standing water and puddling, you should run fans for 24 to 48 hours to remove the remaining moisture. For severe water damage, it’s a good idea to run them for three to four days to be safe. Make sure you buy or rent the proper size and number of fans for your water-damaged area.

Yes, you can oil an electric fan with machine or motor oil but don’t use cooking oil because it can become thick or seize up, damaging the fan. Before oiling your fan, turn it off and remove any dust and debris. Wipe away any excess lubricant after oiling.

It is unlikely that a ceiling fan will fall, even if it develops a wobble. During a proper installation, ceiling fans are securely bolted to a ceiling joist, and the fasteners used for mounting are generally separate from the components related to balancing. A wobble is typically caused by an imbalance, which can be annoying and may lead to other issues, but is not usually dangerous on its own.

However, if a fan is wobbling because it was not installed correctly, it could be at risk of falling. For safety, it's always a good idea to ensure all mounting screws are tight and to address any wobbling or imbalance issues promptly.
