All County and Associates, Inc. is a one-stop, full service professional Land Surveying, Civil Engineering and Environmental Permitting firm located in Southeastern Pennsylvania, offering many residential and commercial services including subdivision/land development design, on-site sewage disposal system inspections, environmental permitting, hydraulic load testing, wetland investigations and building permit plans. Our goal is to keep you out of trouble rather than get you out of trouble.

"Provided an "inspection" but pump failed in less than 2 months. It was completely rusted. Had to have emergency pumping preformed and buy a new pump...$2000 + a nearly $500 "inspection" - from the report they guessed at the specifications, did not pump the system prior to inspection, and ran water in it and listened for the pump to come on. I could have done this. While "pumps can go at any time" according to them, one that's a ball rust should have at lest been noted. Another company said the system should be pumped before inspection - they did not do this and for that reason could not even see the pump. Next property I'll simply add an amendment to inspect the septic myself after the it's pumped myself - I learned more in 10 minutes then the value of the report provided."

Building a road on a slope requires careful planning and will normally require a drainage system underneath to prevent flooding and damage to the road over time. Your professional may lengthen your road to create switchbacks if the slope directly to your home is too steep, as there are regulations for maximum road slope. The drainage system will help prevent runoff from the higher side of the slope from damaging the asphalt or concrete. Keep in mind that building a road on a slope isn’t a good DIY project, as a lot can go wrong.

You can’t build on undeveloped land without preparing it for construction, which involves running utilities to the site or accounting for private utilities like wells and septic systems and grading and compacting the soil for safe construction. Once you prepare the land, you can build on it as long as the project abides by local zoning regulations.

Some building departments will require permits for any underground work or excavation, meaning grinding down tree stumps on your property would require permits. Others mandate individual permits for each tree you remove. You can contact your local building department or a land-clearing specialist near you to see if permits are necessary for your job.
