"The garage is "beautiful," especially compared to the poor shape it was in before the work was done. The neighbors have also commented on how beautiful the garage looks now. The work took longer than planned because of unforeseen illnesses of some of the workers, and the rainy/ stormy weather. Overall, I feel that Bryan Grubb's company did an excellent job on the garage renovation, and I am already using the company for another job."

"Juan had his crew come out and do the work.  We had water damage from water heater failure.  They did a great job repairing drywall, repairing base boards, and painting.  They worked with me on the schedule.  They kept area clean.  Would definitely use again.

"It went great. They were awesome. They really took care of us. They were on time, they were great,  cleaned the house very well every time they leave, and they didn't leave anything laid around. I couldn't ask for a better construction company. They were professional, courteous and they do great work. If there was anything I want to do in the future, I would certainly use them. We'll use this company where we don't have any issues."

"This job went great, so great that we are further employing J&J to do another, larger job that has proven problematic with other contractors.
We have had issues in the past with contractors not responding to us or not following through on bids; they show up to see the job and then disappear or get too busy.  They never answer their phone and most do not bother with email.
J&J set themselves apart by actually being responsive, and fortunately follow through by being very good contractors.
John (Father) and Nick (Son) work as a team...they are the only employees we dealt with.  A few other reviews mention other people, but I'd request that these two be the ones that do the actual work for you.
The time between initial contact and them coming out to do the work was only a few days, which was great since the problem was worsening with time.   They got right down to business, identified the problem, and fixed it.
Once the initial problem was fixed, they allowed me to be the one that tore down the damaged wall, thus saving a little money.
This would probably rub some people the wrong way but they were very friendly about it and did a FANTASTIC job rebuilding the torn out section.  I would have thought it would be a 2 day job easily, but they completed it in one short day, and also cleaned up a lot of the mess I'd made.
Both of them are easy going and friendly, and they are extremely punctual and good about calling to inform you about progress, their next visit, etc.
Pricewise I cannot speak to where they stand; we did not receive any other bids for this project due to the need for its fast completion.   There may be some slap dash contractors that could underbid J&J, but I doubt you'd receive such courteous and professional service.   I feel like the fee was reasonable, given how fast they showed up and completed the work.
I would (and I fact, I am going to) rehire them again without reservation.  I feel like they are honest and trustworthy, and above all, good craftsman.

"I called and was able to quickly get an estimate and get the work scheduled right away. This was important as I was selling my house and needed to get the work done. The work to the structure under the porch was top notch and done quickly. The initial repairs done on the old windows was not done in a quality manner. But when I took photos and sent them to Luis he had someone out to fix the problems the very next day. In the end, the job done on the windows was acceptable, given the time constraints they were under. I would have like a little better quality on the windows, but as I said it was acceptable."

Pole Barn Builders questions, answered by experts

While a romantic getaway in a vacation treehouse may sound appealing, building one to live in year-round comes with more challenges. However, a growing number of people are adopting this small-scale living approach to appreciate an off-the-grid, private lifestyle. It allows you to feel closer to nature in a sustainable, customizable, minimalist, and eco-friendly way.

Pole barns and carports are similar in that they rely on posts for support and are often not connected to a primary structure. The main difference between the two is that pole barns usually include walls that surround the entire perimeter of the structure, while carports generally remain open on three or four sides. It’s possible to insulate garage doors and even exterior walls on pole barns to create a comfortable workspace, and it’s a bit more secure for storage purposes. However, carports are more affordable.

The timeline to build your barn will depend on the barn type and the company you hire. A pole barn may take six weeks or so, while a traditionally framed or steel-framed barn can take four months or longer. Building a barndominium takes the longest because you are essentially building a new home. You can expect barndominiums to take six months or longer to build.

You may need a local building permit and written permission from your homeowner’s association to install a shed, especially if you’re doing any substantial land clearing or installing electricity or plumbing. Permit requirements vary between municipalities, so research the local laws before starting your project. If you hire a contractor to build the shed, they can help determine which permits will be necessary.

A steel frame costs 10% to 20% more than a wood frame. Wood is a much easier material to work with, more accessible, and generally more affordable than steel—plus, you need specialized tools to work with steel.
