"He was punctual, very professional, including his truck and equipment. Everything went without a hitch. He had the parts he needed on his truck. Very friendly and I would absolutely recommend him highly to anyone with locksmith needs, and of course I would use him again without hesitation."

"It was A++ because they do what they say they do, they dont empty promises. They have a very old fashioned way of doing business. They already approach me even if i havent already tell them what i want. I go to them first than any other service. We have a nice relationship with them, they are very helpful to us in marketing for our local farmers market. they just blow my mind when they help us like that. Everyone should do their favor at wilsons hardware and locksmiths because they wont be dissapointed."

"Prompt, courteous, very professional, honest, and reasonably priced. Jim was excellent. He did not attempt to sell me anything that was not necessary. I would highly recommend Advanced Lock and Security to anyone needing locksmith services. I will call them again if I need locksmith services in the future. Advanced Lock was great to do business with."

"Having dealt with locksmiths in the city before, Isaiah and his team were a breath of fresh air. No hidden fees, no cutting corners. They took the time to explain to me the challenges that they faced and offered me solutions to accomplish what I wanted to achieve. We service a number of clients, from individuals and management companies to full build-outs on new developments. If you want it done right the first time, there is no other option in my opinion.  We had a prior contractor do subpar work that could have cost us a substantial investment in refitting, but CPL offered us a number of solutions that allowed us to move forward with confidence. Prompt, knowledgeable, and professional. The Central Philadelphia Locksmiths are the only ones our people will use moving forward."

Locksmiths questions, answered by experts

Commercial locksmith services range from $75 to $500, depending on the job's complexity, such as key duplication, lock installation, or access control system setup.

Regrettably, entirely pick-proof locks don't exist unless you opt for keyless varieties. Locks advertised as "pick-proof" are, in reality, more resilient against lock-picking and bumping attempts because of complex mechanisms consisting of pins and sidebars. These locks work like this—they assign two tasks to the key, enhancing security by making unauthorized entry more challenging.

Smart locks offer a similar level of safety to traditional or conventional locks because they often use comparable locking mechanisms, such as deadbolts. The primary difference is the access method: smart locks use a login or code instead of a physical key, which adds convenience. While not inherently safer, some smart locks have added security features that can deter intruders, like shutting down after too many incorrect code attempts or being harder to pick. For the best security, it's recommended to combine any lock with other home safety features like motion-activated lighting, security cameras, and window and door sensors.

Yes. Most deadbolts purchased from a home improvement store include a step-by-step installation template that is easy to follow, even for novice DIYers. One of the most important steps for successful deadbolt installation is having the proper tools to start with and carefully measuring prior to any attempts at installation.

A keypad deadbolt, a lock requiring a code entered on a keypad entry, can be a convenient option for families with children coming in and out and needing access to the home. It can also offer an easy solution if you rent your home out, since you can easily change the code as needed. So, depending on your home entry’s needs, a keypad deadbolt may be worth the extra expense.
