Customers say: Quick response

"Bob did a fantastic job -- the chairs look even better than they did when they were new. He tightened the loose joints and painted the chairs a smooth, semi-gloss finish. They look impeccable. He picked up and dropped off, finishing the project in the time he estimated. He gave professional recommendations on what would work best. Price was very reasonable compared to if I bought new, with the added bonus that these already fit my space perfectly. I wish I had even more pieces to be refinished!"

"Jim and his son were prompt and meticulous. They installed butcher block countertops that I had purchased beforehand, along with glass tile backsplash in my kitchen. Additionally, they installed a new sink, garbage disposal, and gas cooktop, and all associated plumbing. Jim had great suggestions along the way, and overall it was a terrific experience."

"I found Tim on HomeAdvisor 2 years ago and have since utilized his services twice; most recently this past month. The quality of his work is exceptional!!!!!!! My house was impaired with some severe wall damage caused by water and cracks caused by faulty lentils. Tim's ability to assess the problem(s) and correctly implement a work plan of the highest quality speaks not only to his skill set but his dedication to doing the work completely and correctly. His cleanup is also excellent and his costs are equitable. Highly recommend Tim for any plaster, drywall repair job no matter how challenging it might be!!!!!!!"

Small jobs welcome

"He has a real attention to detail, he got out blood stains from some old foot problems, he cleaned the bedroom carpet like it has never been cleaned before and even pointed out an area that was high use. And every piece of furniture he moved to do the job he put a piece of plastic under each foot so that there would be no leakage from the wood reacting to the carpet being wet. He was accurate for how long it took to dry as well. Very professional."

Upholstering questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can reupholster antique furniture, and it’s a great way to extend the life of your pieces and keep them looking fresh and new for years to come. In fact, since reupholstering furniture is significantly more affordable than replacing it, reviving antique furniture can be a cost-effective way to keep that family heirloom usable for much longer. It’s usually a good idea to leave antique reupholstering to a professional, as they will have the tools and expertise to ensure the piece isn’t damaged and looks professionally finished.

Depending on the quality of the leather, this type of upholstery can last anywhere from 5 to 20 years. The more time you invest in the care and protection of the leather, the longer your leather furniture is likely to last.

Craftsmanship begins with detailed design followed by skilled artisans shaping high-quality materials into the desired furniture, ensuring durability and uniqueness.

Part of the beauty of academia decor is that most textures and materials will feel right at home, provided they’re dark. Some common textures include natural wood, dark metals like iron, velvet, and leather. Incorporating these into your dark academia decor will make them look right at home. Glass is another option in some cases, so fill in gaps in your decor with small glass jars, or really lean on the gothic roots of dark academia with stained glass.

It is generally worth repairing leather furniture rather than replacing it, as it is typically more affordable and the material tends to retain its value. A typical repair averages around $250, which is significantly less than the thousands of dollars a replacement could cost. Even a full reupholstering, which can cost up to $4,000, may still be more economical than buying new. With proper care, repaired leather furniture can last for many years, making the investment worthwhile. However, if the underlying structure or frame of the furniture is damaged or malfunctioning, replacement might be a better option. The quality of the leather and the furniture piece are also important factors. For a definitive answer, it is best to consult a leather repair professional to assess your specific situation.
